ActiveJobs

Cookies Policy

Effective date:

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

"Cookies" are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. "Local storage" (and "session storage") are similar browser features that let a site store data on your device without using cookies.

ActiveJobs uses local storage only — we do not set any cookies on your device.

2. First-Party Only

Everything we store is first-party (placed by activejobs-apply.com itself). We do not embed third-party advertising networks, social-media trackers, or third-party analytics in the website.

3. What We Store and Why

Functional (set client-side, no server interaction)

  • directjobs:saved-jobs — the list of job IDs you have bookmarked via the heart icon.
  • directjobs:pending-applies — jobs you have just clicked Apply on, so we can ask "Did you apply?" when you return to the tab.
  • directjobs:last-filters — your most recent search filters, restored automatically on your next visit.
  • directjobs:recent-searches — up to three recent keyword searches shown as suggestions in the search box.

Performance / engagement metrics

These are server-side counters, not cookies. When a job card scrolls into view, an anonymous tick is added to that job's view count. The counter is per-job, not per-user, and is never linked back to you.

What we do NOT use

  • Session or authentication cookies
  • Third-party advertising cookies
  • Social-media tracking pixels
  • Cross-site identifiers
  • Google Analytics or equivalent third-party analytics

4. Managing or Clearing Stored Data

Because everything we store is first-party local storage, you can clear it at any time:

  • Clear browser data for this site — available in every modern browser's settings. This wipes saved jobs, filter preferences, and recent searches.
  • Private / incognito mode — local storage is isolated and cleared when the window closes.
  • Heart icon on any job removes it from your saved list immediately.

Disabling local storage entirely will prevent saved jobs, recent searches, and the "Did you apply?" prompt from working, but the rest of the Service will still function.

5. Consent

Because we use only first-party functional storage — and no third-party tracking or cookies of any kind — a consent banner is not currently required under EU ePrivacy rules. If we introduce any tracking or analytics that does require consent, we will add a banner and update this page first.

6. Privacy

For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. Material changes will be signalled by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page.
