Description of the area: The Demand to Pay (D2P) Value Stream is responsible for driving the end-to-end Procurement, Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense Management Data & AI strategies, by translating Functional strategies into measurable business outcomes. The role is part of ERP Source to Procure Team within ERP Demand to Pay (D2P) value stream. In this role you will be at the forefront of transforming Source to Contract Architecture & processes. This hands-on Role requires a proactive and strategic mindset, where you will play a key role in driving solutions & end-to-end implementations. In this role you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT counterparts, and product managers specifically on the Source to Contract (S2C) process, understanding business needs and providing comprehensive solutions for strategic/tactical sourcing to contract management into a scalable technical solution for our key stakeholders - Global Procurement, Diagnostics Direct Procurement and RSS (Roche Services and Solutions). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of Source to Contract architectural strategy through the identification and scaling of AI innovations. Delivering cloud-ready strategies for sustainable technology adoption aligned with Roche’s strategic priorities. The opportunity: Define and own the Architecture Runway, ensuring it remains strictly aligned with the long-term Target Architecture.Collaborate with Solution Trains and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to synchronize technical roadmaps with business priorities. Design end-to-end integration strategies across a heterogeneous landscape (e.g. SAP S/4HANA,GEP Smart, ORO, Deployed and other CLM Platforms). Drive comprehensive end-to-end solution designs, managing complex integrations and seamless data flows across the ecosystem. Translate high-level business requirements into detailed solution/system designs and actionable backlogs. Manages Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) and fitness functions. Enforce a "Clean Core" strategy and adhere to established extensibility principles to ensure system longevity. Champion a Fit-to-Standard approach to minimize technical debt and proactively reduce WRICEF (Workflow, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms) complexity. Documents and evolves the architecture throughout the product life cycle, and aligns with the architecture community for proper governance. Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies across multiple ARTs (Agile Release Train). Maintain overall technical integrity and architectural consistency across the enterprise landscape. Identify, Design and scale AI-driven innovations (e.g., automated contract redlining, contract analytics, negotiation, predictive sourcing) within the Source to Contract solutions/systems. Transforming traditional Procurement tools/systems by architecting Agentic AI systems that transition from 'human-led/system-supported' to 'AI-led/human-governed' workflows. Author and maintain critical architectural artifacts, including Solution Design Documents (SDD), Technical Specifications, and Integration Data Flows, ensuring a "Source of Truth" for future scalability. Ensure all technical designs and documentation comply with GxP, Data Privacy (GDPR), ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) and Roche-specific security standards, facilitating smooth internal and external audits. Define and govern the multi-tier landscape strategy (Dev, Test, Pre-Prod, and Prod), ensuring environment parity and robust regression testing protocols. Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans (UAT(User Acceptance Test), SIT (System Integration Test), and Performance Testing) to ensure solutions meet the highest standards of stability and performance. Explains difficult or sensitive technical information and works collaboratively to build consensus among product teams, business stakeholders, and technical peers. Who you are: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, IT, Finance or a related field. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience working as Solution Architect with strong analytical and hands-on problem solving skills. 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare technology industry focusing on stakeholder management & product development & delivery. Demonstrated experience managing the full Sourcing & Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) process, including RFx execution, negotiation, contract request, authoring, negotiation, approval, execution, repository management, compliance, and renewals within enterprise procurement platforms (e.g Smart by GEP, SAP Ariba, S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement or related platforms). Hands-on experience architecting, designing, and implementing integrations across Sourcing, CLM, procurement, and ERP systems to support end-to-end Demand to Pay transformation initiatives. Demonstrated experience managing the fill on how CLM integrates with sourcing, procurement, and ERP systems. Familiarity with orchestration frameworks and intake-to-procure platforms (e.g ORO Labs) is considered a plus. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing business-driven, standards-based solutions within an ERP environment. Proven track record of maintaining solution roadmaps, assessing technology trends, and conducting vendor assessments. Experience documenting and evolving architecture throughout the product lifecycle and aligning with enterprise architecture governance. Solid hands-on experience with Sourcing and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Tools (e.g Smart by GEP, DocuSign, SAP Ariba, Coupa, Icertis or similar platforms is required. Deep understanding of Source-to-pay/Procure-to-Pay processes and functionalities (e.g. Sourcing projects, RFx, Auctions, Contract-Lifecycle-Management, Procurement, Invoicing, Supplier Management). Strong knowledge of integration patterns, architecture, design & implementation, API-Led connectivity, Middleware (e.g Mulesoft) for connecting Sourcing, CLM and ERP Systems is a must. Experience designing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs, working with API gateways, and enabling secure data exchange across S2C (Source to Contract) ecosystems is a must. Strong skills in handling data formats (JSON, XML, CSV, EDI Standards), data mapping, transformation, and ETL processes across sourcing and contract systems. Expertise in managing Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), defining fitness functions, and establishing reference architectures and patterns. Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive mindset to improve solutions, processes, and manage technical debt.
