Job Title: Tech Architecture Manager Location: Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa Department: Enterprise Architecture Reports to: Pierre Myburg We are seeking a skilled Tech Architecture Manager to lead and drive the design and implementation of robust technology architecture solutions. As a key leader, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing enterprise-level technical strategies that support the organization’s business objectives and digital transformation initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technological direction, advise on best practices, and ensure that architectural solutions deliver value, scalability, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Architecture Strategy & Design:Lead the development, planning, and implementation of enterprise technology architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.Define architecture roadmaps and ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational frameworks. Technical Leadership & Innovation:Guide and mentor teams in the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, tools, and methodologies.Evaluate emerging technologies to assess their applicability, and propose innovative solutions to drive business growth. Solution Integration & Delivery:Oversee the integration of technology solutions across multiple platforms, ensuring seamless performance and scalability.Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure alignment between architectural designs and technical implementation. Governance & Standards Compliance:Establish and enforce architecture governance, policies, and standards across the organization.Ensure technology solutions adhere to security best practices, data governance, and regulatory guidelines. Stakeholder Collaboration:Partner with business and IT leaders to understand requirements and provide strategic guidance.Facilitate discussions between project teams, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment of solutions. Performance Optimization:Monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement architectural improvements to optimize operations and cost.Establish key metrics for ongoing assessment of architecture effectiveness and business value. Team Management:Direct, mentor, and manage a team of technical architects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and team cohesion.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the architecture team. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in technical architecture, solution design, or systems integration, including team or project leadership roles. Proven expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, or Zachman Framework. In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), infrastructure design, and application development methodologies. Proficiency in system modeling tools and DevOps practices. Key Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with Agile frameworks and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. Certifications such as AWS Solution Architect, TOGAF, or PMP will be considered an advantage.
