At Roche, we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now, we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs, such as workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings, and other collaborative events. The ERP Test Manager is the strategic architect and operational guardian of the ASPIRE Test Methodology. You are tasked with identifying operational "white space" and engineering new processes to fill those gaps. You will ensure the testing organization is compliant with Computer System Validation (CSV) and Quality standards while driving continuous evolution. As the primary defender of processes during audits and the lead architect for system upgrades, you balance regulatory rigor with operational efficiency. Responsibilities Scope / (Content Leadership): Provides expert-level leadership and strategic guidance for high-impact and/or complex quality assurance projects. Develops and implements Quality Engineering best practices across multiple initiatives, ensuring consistency, test traceability, and alignment with enterprise standards. Leads quality analysis efforts on significant projects, provides guidance to less experienced Quality Engineers, and contributes to strategic initiatives. Provides oversight, advisory, and quality assurance across strategic initiatives, ensuring testing purpose and scope alignment, test cohesion, traceability, and ultimate product value. Custodianship: Own the master version of the ASPIRE Test Methodology. Regulatory Alignment: Ensure every process update is "pre-validated" by aligning with CSV and Quality teams before rollout. Content Creation: Author high-quality technical documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, and User Guides. Accountability/Problem Solving: Leads the analysis of complex and strategic software quality problems, defining the quality assurance scope and driving comprehensive root cause analysis for critical defects that may span organizational boundaries. Elicits and analyzes complex stakeholder quality needs with expertise, influencing business stakeholders to inform and make the right decisions regarding product quality and release readiness. Defines strategic testing solution scope, manages complexity, and drives consensus on quality standards and release criteria through persuasive communication. Recommends optimal quality assurance technologies and tools for business transformation, providing highly innovative solutions to unusually complex quality challenges. Milestone Management: Take full accountability for ensuring all test phases (e.g., SAT, UAT, RT) start on time according to the global release calendar. Progress Monitoring: Track real-time testing metrics, defect burn-down rates, and resource allocation to ensure deadlines are met. Reporting: Author and present comprehensive Test Summary Reports (TSR) for stakeholders, providing a clear verdict on quality and go-live readiness. Front-Line Defense: Act as the lead SME for Testing during internal and external quality audits. Traceability Oversight: Ensure that the "paper trail" (or digital equivalent) for all testing activities is robust enough to withstand deep-dive scrutiny. Stakeholder Management: Identifies key stakeholders, including senior management, across organizational boundaries and analyzes complex stakeholder networks and their strategic influence. Develops and executes comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communication plans, driving stakeholder consensus on the strategic vision. Navigates complex conflicts to achieve alignment, acting as a master negotiator and an organizational trust builder who empowers teams in stakeholder management. Shapes strategy as a trusted advisor to leadership, acting as an influential partner. Impact/Strategy: Delivers consistent leadership and significant impact across major products within a product line, possibly within a specific domain, ensuring the delivery of high-value solutions that align with business strategy. Leads the evaluation of strategic solution options, including advanced value analysis and risk assessment, and ensures alignment of strategic projects with broader organizational goals. Recommends and guides the implementation of optimal strategies, transitions, and future states. Embeds best practices, coaches peers, and fosters a culture of strategic innovation and continuous improvement within their product line or domain. Identify Gaps: Proactively audit the current ASPIRE lifecycle to identify "friction points" or missing controls where the methodology fails to meet project or regulatory needs. Build & Improve: Design, pilot, and deploy new testing workflows, templates, and frameworks to close identified gaps. Continuous Optimization: Evaluate the effectiveness of current SOPs and Work Instructions, streamlining them to remove unnecessary "red tape" while maintaining 100% compliance. Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a small support team to assist with reporting, SolMan Updates. Complexity/ (Product Size): Leads quality engineering efforts on large, complex, or strategic projects, potentially spanning multiple domains or business units when opportunities arise. Effectively manages highly ambiguous and evolving requirements in dynamic environments, demonstrating a holistic viewpoint to analyze problems and considering potential micro and macro implications across related domains. Understands the principles of traceability and strategic alignment to ensure requirements support broader organizational goals while managing complex stakeholder landscapes. Business/Technical ability: Possesses in-depth knowledge of the business domain, relevant quality assurance technologies, and organizational strategy. Applies systems thinking to provide holistic and enterprise-wide consulting advice, considering the complexity of interconnected systems. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Quality Engineering and testing concepts and practices. Strategy Guardrails: Ensure that both large-scale programs and smaller projects follow the overall test strategy. Deviation Management: Formally manage the lifecycle of deviations, ensuring any departure from the ASPIRE methodology is risk-assessed, documented, and defensible. Strategic Advisor: Act as a consultant for project teams to help them navigate complex testing requirements without sacrificing speed Qualifications Education / Experience Extensive experience providing expert-level leadership and strategic guidance for high-impact software quality assurance projects.
