Job Description: Medical Director Location: Seoul, South Korea Function: Medical Affairs Reports to: General Manager About the role We are seeking a Medical Director to provide strategic and scientific leadership for Medical Affairs in Korea. This role translates global medical priorities into a locally relevant, compliant medical strategy, ensuring delivery of high-quality medical outcomes that advance patient care, enable successful product launches, and support business objectives. As a member of the Korea Leadership Team, you will act as the senior medical voice internally and externally, shaping cross-functional decisions and representing Ipsen with credibility across the healthcare ecosystem. Key responsibilities Medical strategy & launch excellence Define and lead the Korea medical strategy aligned to global priorities and local business needs Provide medical leadership for product launches, ensuring strong scientific positioning, evidence readiness, and stakeholder engagement Support lifecycle management and optimise in-line product performance Evidence generation & scientific leadership Lead local evidence generation plans, including post-approval studies and real-world evidence initiatives Translate medical insights into strategic recommendations to inform launch and growth strategies Ensure high-quality scientific exchange, medical education, and publication delivery Leadership & team management Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Medical Affairs organisation Provide strong people leadership, coaching, and capability development across field and office-based teams Drive accountability, performance, and cross-functional collaboration Governance & compliance Ensure all medical activities comply with local regulations, industry codes, and Ipsen standards Maintain strong medical governance and inspection readiness External engagement Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, medical societies, patient organisations, and health authorities Represent Ipsen externally as a credible and trusted scientific leader Education & credentials Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent) Experience Essential Significant Medical Affairs leadership experience within the biopharmaceutical industry Proven track record in successful product launches and lifecycle management Demonstrated people management experience, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder influence Deep understanding of regulatory, pharmacovigilance, and compliance frameworks Desirable Prior Medical Director (or equivalent) experience Strong therapeutic area alignment with Ipsen’s focus areas (e.g. oncology, rare diseases, neuroscience) Experience in evidence generation, including real-world evidence Financial and operational acumen We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported; where we embrace “The Real Us”.
