POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Health Economics & Market Access Sr. Specialist, DACH (m/w/d) is responsible for strategic & continual development of reimbursement programs and tools for hospital clients and field-based teams within DACH region, focusing on Germany. They will continuously analyze the framework conditions of reimbursement, derive strategies and implement them with internal and external stakeholders. They will lead the analysis of key customer needs including coding (i.e. OPS, ICD-10, DRG), claims denials, procedural documentation, and quarterly business reviews with hospital (and physician group) reimbursement teams. Moreover, the position holder will provide customer support in preparing and executing budget negotiations with health care insurances. Responsibilities Develop effective communication materials that clearly explain reimbursement mechanisms to customers and J&J Heart Recovery and Cardiovascular employees; Develop training programs and support sales and clinical teams with reimbursement questions and issues; As requested, work directly with hospitals to provide information on reimbursement and overall financial pathways relating to their Impella programme; As requested, local support of customers with product and evidence information the budgeting and negotiation process for innovative procedures and add-on reimbursement; Create, review and optimize reimbursement application related materials for innovative procedures (NUB); Support the implementation of customer engagement strategies led by other J&J Heart Recovery functions with a focus on Market Development initiatives (e.g. regional round tables); Support collaboration and management of external vendor activities; Monitor and if possible, work directly with regional and national health insurances to address hospital reimbursement issues including rates and local coverage decisions; If required manage relationships with private insurance service providers to optimize reimbursement environment and coverage for J&J Heart Recovery technologies; Participation in scientific conferences, congresses, and trade fairs as well as European Sales Meetings. Participation in regional and national medical devices association groups, e.g. BVMed. Evaluate and analyze SHI-data to develop & support business development programs. Develop & maintain tracking, reporting, and analysis systems as well as internal activity and account management reports. Regular input on strategic decision making on commercialization of key future heart recovery products & solutions, primarily in Germany but also throughout the DACH region.
