Must have skills : Kubernetes Good to have skills : NA Minimum 3 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: Seeking a hands-on OpenShift Platform Engineer to support, operate, and continuously improve an enterprise OpenShift platform hosting mission-critical middleware and AI-enabled applications. The role focuses on platform operations, developer enablement, CI/CD integration, environment support, and platform reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with Development, SRE, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Security teams to ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, resilient, and production-ready. Roles & Responsibilities: Perform day-to-day operational support of OpenShift clusters across development, testing, and production environments. Manage OpenShift projects, namespaces, RBAC permissions, resource quotas, secrets, service accounts, routes, and deployment configurations. Support application teams with container onboarding, deployment troubleshooting, performance tuning, and platform best practices. Monitor platform health, capacity, utilization, and availability using enterprise monitoring and observability tools. Investigate and resolve platform-related incidents, deployment failures, and production issues within agreed service levels. Collaborate with SRE, Infrastructure, and Development teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and deployment automation frameworks. Implement and enhance automation for recurring operational activities wherever possible. Assist with platform upgrades, patching activities, and validation of new OpenShift features and capabilities. Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, vulnerability remediation requirements, and operational controls. Participate in root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous service improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain operational documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles. Support middleware and AI application workloads running on the OpenShift platform. Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during planned maintenance windows and critical production incidents when required. Required Experience & Skills 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure support, or container platform administration. Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes. Experience supporting enterprise containerized applications in production environments. Knowledge of Linux administration, shell scripting, and troubleshooting. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. Understanding of container technologies including Docker and Podman. Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Dynatrace, or equivalent. Strong understanding of networking concepts, ingress, load balancing, DNS, and security controls within container platforms. Experience working with Git-based source control and deployment workflows. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills/Additional Information Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or OpenShift GitOps. Exposure to Ansible, Terraform, or Infrastructure-as-Code practices. Experience supporting AI, data processing, or middleware platforms. OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications are advantageous. Experience in highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.
