Join us and help run what runs the world. This Position reports to: Operations Manager 1. Surface Treatment Process Management Manage and control all surface treatment processes such as degreasing, pickling, passivation, phosphating, cleaning, and coating operations. Ensure process parameters (chemical concentration, temperature, pH, conductivity, immersion time) are maintained within specified limits. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for surface treatment activities. Monitor bath chemistry and schedule chemical replenishment and replacement. Ensure surface treatment quality meets Vacuum Interrupter manufacturing requirements. Investigate and resolve coating defects, corrosion issues, contamination, and surface finish problems. 2. Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) Operations Operate and maintain the ETP to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Monitor and control effluent parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, BOD, suspended solids, heavy metals, and oil content. Optimize chemical dosing and treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Maintain records of effluent generation, treatment, disposal, and environmental compliance. Coordinate with authorized waste disposal agencies for sludge and hazardous waste management. 3. Quality Assurance & Process Control Conduct routine laboratory testing of process chemicals, rinse water, and treated effluent. Perform root cause analysis for process deviations and customer quality concerns related to surface treatment. Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous monitoring systems. Support product qualification and process validation activities. 4. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, pollution control board requirements, and ISO 14001 standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for handling acids, alkalis, solvents, and hazardous chemicals. Train operators on chemical handling, emergency response, PPE usage, and spill management. Lead initiatives for waste reduction, chemical consumption optimization, and sustainability improvement. 5. Continuous Improvement Drive projects to reduce chemical consumption, water usage, and effluent generation. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives. Improve process capability, yield, and operational efficiency. Support Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and Zero Waste to Landfill initiatives where applicable. 6. Maintenance & Asset Management Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance of treatment tanks, pumps, dosing systems, scrubbers, pipelines, and ETP equipment. Ensure availability of critical spares and chemicals. Participate in CAPEX projects related to process expansion and modernization. 7. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation Maintain all statutory records related to chemical storage, hazardous waste, and environmental monitoring. Liaise with regulatory authorities during audits and inspections. Prepare monthly environmental performance reports and management reviews.
