BD Lab Specimen Management The Health Technology Commercial Leader, will play a critical role in shaping and advancing one of BD’s most strategic growth initiatives, focused on driving growth creation through learning velocity, behavioral insights, and iterative experimentation across emerging care delivery models. This role blends commercial strategy and business model innovation in an emerging solution area, requiring a non-traditional approach that extends beyond core product marketing into ecosystem development, channel strategy, and insight generation to drive scalable commercial capabilities. The role requires a highly entrepreneurial mindset, strong learning agility, and the ability to operate in ambiguity while rapidly translating insights into action. Responsibilities: New Growth Creation & Commercial Strategy Drive development of the end-to-end commercial strategy, including consumer and provider insight–driven segmentation, value proposition design, channel strategy and ecosystem orchestration. Bring direct experience commercializing and scaling new offerings, ideally in DTC, digitally enabled, or non-traditional healthcare channels, to inform strategy and execution. Own commercial inputs to the business case, including market sizing, revenue projections, and growth opportunities. Design and execute rapid experimentation cycles (MVPs, pilots, A/B testing) to validate commercial models and go-to-market approaches, continuously optimizing based on learnings. Define and build new commercial capabilities required to support emerging care models, including digital engagement, customer acquisition, and service-oriented delivery. Bring external perspectives and best practices from consumer, digital health, and access-driven care models to challenge traditional approaches and accelerate innovation. Partnerships & Ecosystem Building Identify, evaluate, and help manage strategic partnerships critical to enabling new business models. Co-create solutions with partners across digital platforms, service providers and channel players to accelerate market adoption. Orchestrate ecosystem stakeholders to deliver integrated, patient-centric experiences. Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution Lead across a highly matrixed team, partnering with R&D, Business Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Operations to drive results. Translate strategy into clear execution plans with rapid test-and-learn cycles, balancing speed with rigor. Drive alignment across stakeholders while maintaining momentum in an iterative, evolving environment. Evidence Generation & Market Shaping Identify key evidence needs to support clinical, operational, and economic value propositions. Partner with Medical Affairs and HEOR to support data generation and market development strategies. Engage external stakeholders and thought leaders to build trust, credibility, and adoption. Qualifications Education: BS/BA in business, science, marketing, or health care required MBA is strongly desired Experience: 7–10+ years of relevant experience in commercial strategy, global marketing, or business development within healthcare, life sciences, medtech, or adjacent industries Demonstrated experience launching and scaling new products, services, or platforms, ideally in patient-centric, consumer-initiated, or direct-to-consumer (DTC) healthcare models Experience working in non-traditional channels (e.g., digital health, at-home testing, consumer health, or service-based delivery models) strongly preferred Proven track record leading early-stage or ambiguous initiatives, with responsibility for building commercial strategy and driving execution from concept through launch Experience engaging with or building external partnerships and ecosystems to enable new business models Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to design and execute end-to-end go-to-market models for new and emerging offerings Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with demonstrated ability to distill complex, ambiguous concepts into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations for executive leadership, enabling confident, timely decision-making Deep customer orientation, with the ability to translate human needs and behaviors into compelling value propositions, journeys, and experiences Strong understanding of consumer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies, including digital channels and service-oriented delivery models Experience leveraging behavioral insights, qualitative research, and real-world data to inform strategy and optimize performance Demonstrated success building and influencing across cross-functional and highly matrixed teams, with strong stakeholder alignment skills Experience with partnership development, ecosystem strategy, and co-creation of solutions beyond traditional product offerings Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including business case development, pricing strategy, and growth modeling Creative, curious, and forward-thinking mindset, with a bias for action and continuous learning At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
