DESCRIPTION: The Senior Maintenance Technician – Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical, automation, and production support systems within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This role supports reliable plant operations through advanced electrical and controls troubleshooting, preventive maintenance execution, and rapid response to equipment failures while maintaining strict compliance with safety and quality standards. This position serves as a technical resource within the maintenance organization and is expected to independently diagnose complex equipment issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist in maintaining site operational reliability. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical & Controls MaintenanceTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, production equipment, and facility support systems Diagnose and correct electrical, instrumentation, and controls failures to minimize downtime Support operation and maintenance of:Allen Bradley PLC systems Motor controls and VFDs Instrumentation and calibration systems Electrical distribution systems Pneumatic and hydraulic systems Read and interpret:Electrical schematics P&IDs Technical manuals Wiring diagrams and blueprints Preventive & Predictive MaintenanceExecute preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and performance Complete maintenance work orders accurately and on time within SAP CMMS Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective actions or reliability improvements Support troubleshooting during equipment startups, shutdowns, and process interruptions GMP Compliance & DocumentationPerform all maintenance activities in compliance with GMP, safety, and environmental requirements Ensure accurate and complete maintenance documentation, including:Work orders Equipment logs Maintenance forms Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in inspection-ready condition Continuous Improvement & Technical SupportParticipate in root cause investigations and equipment reliability initiatives Recommend process and equipment improvements to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance technicians Support implementation of new equipment, upgrades, and automation improvements SafetyFollow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and safe work practices Actively support site safety initiatives and identify unsafe conditions Utilize appropriate PPE and comply with all site environmental, health, and safety procedures Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Strong troubleshooting experience with:Allen Bradley PLC systems Industrial instrumentation AC/DC motors and drives Electrical distribution systems Experience using CMMS systems (SAP preferred) Proficient with Windows-based computer systems and maintenance software Preferred QualificationsExperience in GMP-regulated manufacturing (pharmaceutical, biotech, food, or chemical) Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies Experience with calibration systems and process instrumentation Familiarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic capability Experience with high voltage electrical distribution and systems Ability to work independently with limited supervision Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Mechanical aptitude including basic machining, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred Ability to support off-shift, weekend, holiday, and emergency response work as required Working ConditionsManufacturing and industrial environment with exposure to:Moving mechanical equipment Electrical hazards Noise Temperature variations Chemicals and industrial utilities Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift maintenance tools and equipment as required Benefits We offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
