JOB DESCRIPTION:RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development and execution of Market Access activities with the ultimate aim of securing appropriate funding/reimbursement for CRM/SH/NEM technologies to maximizing patient access Monitor and analyze health policy and funding developments and their business impact for divisions Identify policy priorities and develop activities how to leverage those priorities to gain market access and/or to protect or improve existing market share Develop and execute the reimbursement plan for China Lead and further develop the health economics & reimbursement team in China Lead the development and use of health economic evidence in support of reimbursement Lead the tender business through appropriate government affairs activities Identify clear objectives and action plans in pursuit of market access and reimbursement/funding. Partner with internal and external stakeholders in pursuit of these objectives. Communicate progress to China country leadership, and to AP and ID health economics & reimbursement functions. Ensure alignment with the Tendering, Marketing and Clinical functions in pursuit of market access and funding. Ensure alignment with ID Health Economics & Reimbursement and the Asia Health Economics & Reimbursement Director to create ID-wide synergies and coherence. Seek cross-industry alliances where appropriate in support of market access of technology innovation. Assess the need for robust clinical evidence and health economics data for non-clinical stakeholders, and manage the relationship and contract with government institutions and related stakeholders. Partner with individual customers (KOLs) and scientific associations in support of market access activities. Lead the creation, use and communication of health economic evidence for national reimbursement and market access activities. Ensure adequate training of staff on reimbursement and government affairs to allow for appropriate support. REQUIREMENTS:Industry Experience: Previous ‘hands on’ experience in a Market Access related role within a global organization Previous experience within the medical devices industry advantageous Skills: The position requires a team player with leadership skills and diplomacy in dealing with numerous internal and external customers Excellent communication skills are indispensable to ensure full buy-in of multi-disciplinary teams into the government affairs and reimbursement activities Fluent English is required High degree of integrity and diplomacy are essential. Experienced working with clinical data and data needs. Experienced negotiator and team player. “Can do” mentality with thought-through and prompt execution and high level of responsibility Strong commercial acumen and credibility with company leadership and business functions. Knowledge: Good knowledge of the reimbursement and funding environment for medical devices in China. Proven track record of successful government affairs activities for medical devices Track record of successful exposure to meetings with clinicians, health care decision makers and other stakeholders and an existing stakeholder network to tap from Analytical competencies to structure complex issues, synthesize key points and communicate and present in an easy to understand manner. Ability to analyze and express judgment, to think strategically and to implement. Ideally: Expertise in applying health economic evidence for market access activities.
