Job description

Working at Freudenberg: We will wow your world! Responsibilities: Injection Molds Maintenance. Injection Molds Repair. Injection Mold adjustment and set up. Control of Injection Mold spare parts. Design and Construction of manufacturing and quality fixtures. Set up, fixture, and level parts for EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining); plan burn sequences; manage offsets, depths, and finish targets. Prepare electrodes (graphite/copper): cut, square, dress, label, and track wear; maintain electrode storage standards. Execute precision EDM repair details (pockets, shutoffs, vent clean-up, edge restoration) to print. Collaborate on mold teardown/assembly; protect hot runner hardware during repairs. Maintain 5S, tool condition, and consumables; document work orders in ERP for full traceability. Support incoming mold acceptance checks and post-run condition reviews. Monitor production schedules to ensure molds are maintained and prepped to minimize production interruptions and downtime. Analyze preventive maintenance activity; recommend and implement approved changes to frequencies and/or activities. Communicate to supervisor when mold/auxiliary concerns cannot be resolved within authorized scope or capabilities. Transport and prepare molds for storage; ensure molds and hose kits (water, pneumatic, hydraulic) have designated locations and are properly stored and maintained. Practice good housekeeping and follow all safety policies when conducting work. EDM-Focused Technician: Demonstrates solid EDM setup and operation, electrode lifecycle management, blueprint reading with basic GD&T, foundational metrology, and conventional machining skills (mill/lathe/grinder). Maintains 5S and complete ERP documentation; collaborates with mold maintenance teams and supports acceptance/post-run reviews. Qualifications: 2–3+ years EDM setup and operation (sinker/conventional). Experience with graphite and/or copper electrodes and understanding of wear and finishing differences. High school education or equivalent.
