If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us! Figma's Product Legal team is growing! We are seeking a proactive, business-minded Senior Product Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will act as a primary legal partner for our Product, Design, and Engineering (PDE) teams, helping them navigate novel, complex legal questions as our product releases accelerate. We are looking for a strategic thinker with an ownership mentality who can help us build a practical, forward-looking approach to risk management. You'll report to the Director, Product Legal, and play a pivotal role in shaping how we scale legal guidance across the organization. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States. What you’ll do at Figma: Partner directly with Figma's Product, Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to provide practical legal guidance on product development and go-to-market strategy Review product user experiences, disclosures, and external marketing and communications materials to mitigate legal risk while helping our teams achieve their goals Partner with cross-functional Legal teams (Commercial, IP, Regulatory) to ensure cohesive strategy and support Advise on legal issues relating to data protection, privacy, consumer protection, IP, and evolving AI-specific laws and regulations Develop and build out the processes, resources, and scaffolding needed to help our team scale our legal guidance as our product releases accelerate Identify and communicate emerging legal risks early in the product development cycle to enable faster, more confident decision-making We'd love to hear from you if you have: In-depth experience counseling on legal issues relating to technology, IP, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and AI Proven ownership mentality, including hands-on engagement with product details, process-building from scratch, and independent prioritization A business-first, solution-oriented approach, including comfort making independent decisions and taking smart risks with imperfect information Demonstrated interest in AI and experience advising on AI-powered products or platforms You have 8+ years of legal experience & J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) and is U.S.-qualified While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have: Experience working in-house at a SaaS company Familiarity with using and advising on ML/AI products A technical background is a huge plus At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. Pay Transparency Disclosure If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of
