You will join the dynamically developing Alcon Digital Hub as a member of the AI Team. In the position of AI Engineer, you will help solve business problems by delivering Agentic AI solutions to our Business Partners. IN THIS ROLE, A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE: Designing and deploying Agentic AI solutions using Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon Q, while ensuring robust version control through GitHub Enterprise. Building and optimizing Python applications in Visual Studio Code to deliver high-performance, scalable AI and machine learning solutions. Researching and experimenting with cutting-edge Agentic AI techniques, frameworks, and foundation models to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency. Developing AI agents, orchestration workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation solutions using modern AI platforms and frameworks. Performing advanced data analysis, curating datasets, and developing compelling visualizations to uncover actionable insights. Developing and implementing descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive models that inform strategic decisions and maximize business impact. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON: Bachelor's or Master's degree student in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline. Proficiency in Python and its key libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, scikit-learn), along with experience using Agentic AI frameworks. Solid understanding of statistical inference, traditional machine learning algorithms, time-series analysis, simulation techniques, and neural network architectures. Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG architectures, vector databases, LLM evaluation techniques, and AI governance best practices. Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including Git, CI/CD, testing, and deployment practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, with a passion for tackling complex challenges. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
