This Position reports to: Business Manager - Operations&Portfolio Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will analyze customer RFQs, develop process concepts for robotic automation, and prepare competitive technical and commercial proposals with strong expertise in BIW/SPM design, simulation, and automotive manufacturing processes, along with effective coordination with customers and vendors to deliver optimized solutions. The work model for the role is: Li_#Onsite This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Bangalore, India. You will be mainly accountable for:- Analyze customer RFQs, clarify technical requirements, and conduct site visits to gather project data. Perform process engineering activities including layout development, robotic application conceptualization, and cycle time estimation. Validate design concepts using basic engineering calculations and ensure quality checks throughout the design phase. Coordinate with third-party vendors (design houses, manufacturing partners, and bought-out part suppliers) for technical inputs and costing. Collaborate with internal teams and customers to align technical requirements and support proposal development. Support end-to-end technical proposal preparation, including concept validation and execution planning. Qualifications for the role Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering. 8-10 years of experience in BIW fixture design, SPM development, robotic simulation, and cycle time studies; industry exposure to Automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, robotic automation, and SPM design. Strong understanding of concept cell and equipment design for robotic applications including welding, hemming, and battery tray assembly. Expertise in weld studies, gun placement, layout and process studies, GD&T, tolerances, and materials. Awareness of Tier-1/OEM design standards and automotive manufacturing processes including welding line layouts (spot welding, arc welding, SPR/FDS joining). Willingness to travel for project execution and customer support. Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across functions and drive results.
