Job Description As a Technical Sales Specialist for Lab Automation Solutions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by combining deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen. You will not only design and deliver automation solutions but also actively contribute to revenue generation by identifying opportunities, shaping customer strategies, and influencing purchasing decisions. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, supporting their laboratory automation journey and helping them improve productivity, efficiency, and reproducibility through well-designed automation solutions. [Key Responsibilities] Identify, develop, and drive new business opportunities through cross-divisional collaboration, leading customer engagement and commercial strategy development Lead solution-based selling activities by understanding customer workflows, pain points, and decision drivers Deliver compelling technical presentations, value propositions, and ROI-driven insights to influence customer decisions Design and propose scalable lab automation solutions using robotics, liquid handling, and integrated systems Lead Proof-of-Concept (PoC), workflow evaluations, and system integration discussions Actively lead the sales cycle including opportunity qualification, solution positioning, and deal progression Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business impact and customer value Collaborate with global Sales, Application, Product, and R&D teams Provide market insights, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence [Qualifications] Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related fields Experience Minimum 7+ years of experience in laboratory automation, including hands-on experience with equipment such as liquid handlers, robotic systems, or integrated platforms, as well as workflow design and system integration Proven experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or solution consulting roles Demonstrated ability to engage customers and influence purchasing decisions Experience working closely with sales teams to support revenue generation Hands-on experience with system integration [Knowledge, Skills, Abilities] Strong understanding of lab automation systems and workflow integration Ability to connect technical solutions to customer value and business outcomes Strong commercial mindset with opportunity identification capability Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills Ability to manage complex customer interactions and stakeholders Fluent English communication [Preferred Qualifications] Experience with LIMS, ELN, or laboratory data systems Experience in lab automation projects or system implementation Experience in solution selling or consultative sales approaches
