THE ROLE: The Occupational Health Nurse in Taiwan will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive occupational health programs that align with organizational objectives. The role involves implementation and management of statutory pre-employment and periodic health screening data, special health examinations, occupational health service provider contracts, medical emergency response, infectious disease prevention, worker health training, ergonomics, health risk assessments and workplace injury and illness prevention. The role requires working onsite at the designated AMD location up to 5 days per week, with ability to travel to other AMD locations in country 10 percent of the time. THE PERSON: The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, be a strategic thinker as well as highly tactical with the ability to work independently to complete short-term and long-term operational tasks and objectives with a passion for creating a positive health culture within the workplace. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Development and Management: Design, implement, and manage occupational health programs focused on injury and illness prevention. Perform case management activities for workplace injuries and illness including return-to-work processes, lost time tracking, work restrictions and medical accommodation. Develop and implement health promotion, health surveillance and disease prevention programs, including infectious diseases, audiometric testing, and respiratory protection, as applicable. Oversee ergonomic evaluations, training compliance, and Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTD) injury prevention. Assist with medical aspects of the employee business travel program. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulations related to occupational health in places where AMD does business. Conduct pre-employment, periodic and return-to-work health assessments for employees. Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify workplace hazards and recommend strategies for risk reduction. Document clear and concise records of case management activities. Manage and maintain records according to internal specifications and privacy requirements. Coordinate with external healthcare providers and government agencies regarding occupational health matters. Participate in workplace health and safety committees and assist with accident investigations as needed. Perform other duties to support the broader Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) organization including the management of medical supplies and waste. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze health-related data trends and prepare reports to inform management and guide decision-making. Utilize data to identify root causes of workplace incidents and develop strategies for mitigation. Workplace Culture and Training: Foster a culture of well-being by promoting health and wellness initiatives across the organization through health promotion and education activities. Develop and deliver training programs on ergonomics, musculoskeletal injury prevention, emergency response protocols, infectious disease prevention and other health topics. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits, safety, facilities, and procurement to promote cohesive health and safety strategies and programs. Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding health-related inquiries. Ability to communicate effectively with both executive management and workers. Infectious Disease and Medical Emergency Prevention and Response Coordination: Provide first aid and emergency medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses. Assist in the development and execution of prevention and emergency response plans related to medical emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks. Assist with the training of emergency response teams in effective health crisis management. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health, safety, or a related field, with a strong focus on program management. Relevant experience in occupational health, public health, or clinical nursing settings. Working knowledge of Taiwan’s labor and occupational health regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a capacity to foster collaboration. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English. Strong understanding of infectious disease prevention and response protocols. Experience in case management and the development and implementation of occupational health programs. Proficiency in analyzing health and safety data, with the ability to create actionable reports and business presentations. Excellent business writing skills and competence in a Microsoft Windows environment. Experience using basic AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, AI Agents, etc. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Taiwan is required.
