We are seeking a Facilities Specialist II with a strong mechanical engineering and technical facilities background to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical building infrastructure and utility systems within a regulated GMP manufacturing environment. In this role, you will serve as the site's mechanical subject matter expert (SME), providing technical leadership for mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, water systems, pumps, piping, and associated process utilities. You will be responsible for ensuring these systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, regulatory, and environmental standards. Working cross-functionally with Quality, EHS, and external contractors, you will lead complex troubleshooting activities, support equipment reliability initiatives, manage preventative and corrective maintenance strategies, and deliver facility improvement projects. You will also provide technical oversight during installations, commissioning, qualifications, and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with GMP and engineering best practices. REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related engineering discipline, plus 2+ years of relevant experience in facilities engineering or maintenance within a regulated manufacturing environment; or an Advanced Degree with relevant technical experience. Strong technical expertise in mechanical building systems including HVAC, chilled water, boilers, steam, compressed air, vacuum, pumps, piping systems, heat exchangers, and associated process utilities. Experience serving as a technical expert or subject matter expert (SME) for facility mechanical systems. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex mechanical equipment and implementing sustainable engineering solutions. Knowledge of GMP/GxP requirements, engineering compliance, change control, and quality management systems. Experience supporting equipment commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ), validation, and lifecycle management. Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS). Ability to interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, mechanical schematics, equipment specifications, and technical documentation. Experience managing contractors, vendors, maintenance activities, and mechanical projects from planning through execution. Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, reliability engineering, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with energy management, sustainability initiatives, and cost optimization of facility systems is highly desirable. Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to facility emergencies as required. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in industrial and mechanical plant environments.
