Job description

Main Responsibilities: Develop supplier capabilities within fabrication and machining processes (welding, structures, CNC machining, finishing and assembly) Evaluate manufacturability and industrial readiness for new and transferred components Challenge and improve supplier manufacturing processes, focusing on quality, cost, and lead time Lead the supplier qualification and onboarding, including quality audits, development and improvement plans; formulate and implement annual supplier audit plans, and ensure the new supplier onboarding process is in line with Sandvik requirements. Responsible for new product qualification – ensure sample parts and manufacturing processes meet Sandvik requirements. Conduct/join process/product audits for existing bought-out parts (especially those subject to problem-solving actions/deviations) and support the claim handling process. Drive technical improvement projects at suppliers (yield, cycle time, scrap reduction, process stability) Support category sourcing by providing technical evaluation of suppliers’ fabrication and machining capabilities, including input to cost drivers; collaborate with suppliers to pursue cost optimization opportunities aligned with the sourcing strategy Proactively assess and manage quality risks within the supply chain; develop contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions, ensuring a resilient and reliable supplier network. Ensure the execution and timely completion of the supplier quality & development program, follow up on supplier performance. Jointly develop and implement category sourcing/supplier strategies to enhance supplier performance, product quality, and operational efficiency. Identify opportunities for process improvements; work closely with suppliers to implement best practices on quality and delivery improvement, cost optimization, and EHS/sustainability. Work closely with suppliers to implement quality related training programs, technology upgrades, and process improvements. Take care of personal EHS related tasks/safety in daily work according to company regulations and safety instructions. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or company.
