This position reports to: Production Supervisor __ Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)Summary: Runs multiple machines/manufacturing processes of diverse functions and/or sets-up and runs one type of machine/manufacturing process. Has basic manufacturing/quality knowledge. Trained to make certain adjustments and/or set-up a machine/manufacturing process at floor management direction. Flexible and works effectively as a member of a work team. Actively involved in cross-training and assists co-workers in cross-training. Can be responsible for training and/or monitoring MO-1’s at floor management direction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Must meet or exceed company requirements for safety. Must complete all required mandatory Safety, OSHA, and ISO 9001 training Reads work instructions to determine job specifications, machine adjustments, and material requirements. The operator is responsible for producing a quality product using the quality plans and work instructions. Documents work completed using the manufacturing system. Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by drawing specifications, tool crib reports or set-up procedures. Follows work orders for correct chemical solutions to be used in washing or plating parts. Awareness of procedures to use around hazardous materials. Recognizes HAZMAT conditions and alerts appropriate personnel. Uses dial calipers, snap gauges or micrometers. Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces per work instructions. Stacks, marks, packs, and transports finished work pieces. Ability to work overtime as scheduled. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Basic understanding of computer based machine controls. Must have basic manufacturing/quality knowledge and be able to use simple measuring devices. Able to follow quality plans and work instructions. Able to use common tools of machine operations. Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required. Minimum of 3 months to one year of related experience and/or certification or training in such things as blue print reading is preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Basic English communication skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) to be able to communicate and discuss with English speaking internal and external customers. Skill must be at a minimum of a 6th English grade level. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving more concrete variables.
