This Position reports to: Global Product & Technology Manager Your role and responsibilities : In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. The work model for the role is: #LI hybrid This role is contributing to the Process Automation business to Process industry in Bangalore . You will be mainly accountable for: Maintaining recognized expertise in a specific area by integrating the latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work. Technical Leadership: Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of industrial software solutions. Define coding standards, review architecture decisions, and ensure engineering excellence across the team. Backend Development: Design and develop robust, high-performance backend services and APIs using .NET (C#) and related frameworks (ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core). Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability. Frontend / Full-Stack Contribution: Contribute to and review frontend components built with JavaScript / TypeScript, React or Angular, ensuring seamless integration with backend services. Industrial Software & Integration: Architect integrations with industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus) and edge/cloud platforms. Leverage ABB Ability and similar IIoT platforms where applicable. Drive cloud-native development on Azure / AWS (microservices, containers, Kubernetes). Champion CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and GitOps practices. Team Mentoring: Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers. Conduct code reviews, pair-programming sessions, and technical knowledge-sharing workshops. Qualifications for the role: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a Tech Lead or senior engineering role. Deep expertise in .NET / C# (ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, gRPC, background services). Strong proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js, React or Angular). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Proven track record of designing microservices, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus). Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis). Experience with DevOps toolchains: Git, Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Terraform.
