Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description Position SummaryThe Senior Learning Technology Specialist plays a critical role in advancing and continuously improving Thermo Fisher Scientific’s learning technology ecosystem. Working across learning platforms, content systems, integrations, automations, and technology-enabled learning experiences, this role shapes scalable, efficient, and user-friendly learning solutions through a combination of learning technology expertise, process improvement, governance, and cross-functional collaboration. As part of the Global Talent Development team, the successful candidate translates learning technology strategy into reliable solutions and sustainable operational practices. In partnership with Talent Development, HR, IT, external vendors, and other stakeholders, the role drives platform innovation, optimizes technology operations, and enhances the overall learner experience. Key Responsibilities:Learning Technology Operations Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned learning technologies, providing guidance to administrators, stakeholders, vendors, and internal partners on platform capabilities, governance, and operational best practices. Manage administration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, user access, permissions, content publishing workflows, and other operational activities across learning technologies and related digital learning tools. Plan and coordinate platform changes, releases, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, launches, and other platform-related initiatives. Drive continuous improvement of learning technologies by identifying opportunities, resolving operational challenges, and enhancing platform performance and user experience. Maintain documentation for system processes, governance practices, operational handoffs, support models, and recurring activities. Platform Governance and Content Operations Promote consistent application of governance standards for learning platforms, content organization, metadata, naming conventions, and content lifecycle management. Lead content quality and governance activities, including audits, cleanup initiatives, publishing workflows, quality assurance, content discoverability, and learner navigation improvements. Collaborate with platform editors, administrators, and internal users to maintain governance standards, improve content quality, and enhance the overall platform experience. Automation and Process Enablement Play a key role in the design, development, testing, monitoring, documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Talent Development automation workflows, including solutions built with enterprise automation tools such as Power Automate. Enable effective and responsible use of approved AI-enabled tools and workflows by documenting use cases, evaluating outputs, and identifying risks or governance considerations. Partner with stakeholders to identify automation and workflow optimization opportunities, clarify requirements, evaluate risks and dependencies, coordinate testing, and support implementation of process improvements. Technology Coordination, Reporting, and Adoption Coordinate with Talent, HR, IT, vendors, and other stakeholders to advance learning technology initiatives through solution reviews, integrations, testing, launch readiness activities, and other cross-functional efforts. Develop and deliver reporting, dashboards, and operational insights that inform platform adoption, content health, performance trends, and continuous improvement efforts. Champion adoption of learning technology changes through user guidance, administrator enablement, release communications, and change support resources. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Learning Technologies, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Information Systems, Information Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered. 6+ years of experience in learning technology, learning operations, HR technology, LMS/LXP administration, digital learning operations, or related technology-enabled business operations roles. Strong expertise administering, configuring, and optimizing Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), and related learning technologies. Background advancing learning technology governance, content management, information architecture, and learner experience improvements. Demonstrated experience implementing automation solutions and leveraging AI technologies to improve efficiency and user experience. Experience collaborating with vendors and contributing to technology implementations and cross-functional initiatives. Proven ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and deliver high-quality work with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively within a global matrixed organization. English proficiency required; minimal travel may be required. Work Environment: Hybrid No relocation assistance provided at this time Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $130,000.00–$194,950.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
