Reports To: Sr. Director, Product Management, Marketing and Sales Technology Group/Division: Corporate Customer Marketing Travel: 0–5% HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Sr. Program Manager, Sales and Marketing Technology Operations to lead program management for the Customer Marketing Product Management team. This role enables disciplined execution across marketing and sales technology initiatives that support customer engagement, demand generation, sales enablement, customer data, content management, AI-driven capabilities, and digital experience modernization. The Sr. Program Manager will partner with senior product managers, business leaders, marketing stakeholders, IT, finance, procurement, and vendors to ensure programs are prioritized, tracked, and delivered. You will own key operating mechanisms including portfolio dashboards, roadmaps, monthly reviews, quarterly prioritization, and stakeholder communications. The ideal candidate brings program management discipline, commercial acumen, analytical capability, and executive communication skills. This hands-on leadership role requires operating at both strategic and tactical levels, connecting cross-functional teams, identifying risks, and ensuring visibility into progress and priorities. You will lead program management and establish the operating rhythm that enables disciplined execution across our marketing and sales technology portfolio. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Program Management and Operating Model: Own the Product Management operating rhythm including dashboards, huddles, monthly reviews, quarterly roadmap reviews, prioritization, and release notes. Establish clear timelines, templates, and expectations for recurring deliverables. Partner with product leaders to ensure roadmaps, priorities, milestones, risks, and escalations are updated consistently. Drive operational discipline by improving visibility, accountability, and execution rigor. Portfolio Roadmap and Prioritization: Lead planning and coordination of roadmaps across Marketing and Sales Technology programs including digital merchandising, marketing channels, data management, content management, sales enablement, generative AI, and related initiatives. Maintain a centralized roadmap view that communicates quarterly priorities, launches, enhancements, dependencies, and timing. Support quarterly prioritization reviews to ensure initiatives align to business value, customer impact, revenue growth, and strategic objectives. Governance, Risk, and Escalation Management: Own program governance processes including milestone tracking, escalation tracking, issue resolution, and dependency management. Identify, document, and monitor risks and cross-functional dependencies that may impact delivery. Coordinate corrective actions with product leaders, IT partners, stakeholders, vendors, and leadership. Stakeholder Communication and Leadership Alignment: Manage stakeholder communications across product management, business leaders, marketing teams, sales operations, IT, finance, and executive leadership. Translate project updates into concise executive-level summaries that communicate progress, risks, and business impact. Prepare materials for staff meetings, monthly reviews, leadership updates, and AOP planning. AOP Planning and Strategic Business Operations: Support the annual operating planning process by coordinating timelines, milestones, roadmap updates, and capacity planning. Track and communicate program-level value realization including revenue enablement, productivity improvement, and cost savings. Process Improvement and Product Management Enablement: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate product management operations. Improve templates, dashboards, meeting structures, and communications to reduce administrative burden and increase effectiveness. Support onboarding and enablement of product managers on processes, tools, and operating mechanisms. HOW YOU WILL GET HERE: Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience: 8+ years of experience in sales, marketing, digital, technology, product operations, project management, or program management. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading complex projects and/or programs in a matrixed organization. Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional programs involving marketing, sales, IT, finance, procurement, business stakeholders, and external vendors. Strong understanding of digital marketing, marketing technology, sales technology, customer data, content operations, AI-enabled capabilities, or commercial technology platforms. Proven ability to manage portfolio-level roadmaps, dashboards, governance processes, risks, dependencies, and executive communications. Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess program health, track KPIs, evaluate ROI, forecast outcomes, and communicate business impact. Exceptional organization, planning, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to think strategically while also operating hands-on to drive tactical execution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear executive-level presentations and concise status updates. Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority across divisional, regional, global, commercial, marketing, IT, and leadership teams. Ability to analyze complex situations, apply independent judgment, identify practical solutions, and drive decisions. High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Track record of delivering complex programs with measurable business outcomes. Experience working in a large, matrixed enterprise environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in product management operations, digital marketing operations, marketing technology operations, commercial technology, or sales enablement technology. Experience managing annual planning, roadmap governance, release management, or portfolio reporting. Experience supporting technology savings, vendor consolidation, contract tracking, or Project Harmony-style initiatives. Experience developing dashboards, executive reporting, roadmap summaries, and program health metrics. Familiarity with AI, generative AI, data science, customer data platforms, marketing automation, digital merchandising, demand generation, or sales enablement capabilities. Strong PowerPoint and storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesize complex program details into clear leadership communications.
