As the Workday Specialist role, you will help build Johnson & Johnson’s digital-first, employee-centric people development experiences by designing and enabling Workday solutions that make learning, skills, and growth easier to access and measure at scale. You will be a hands-on Workday specialist and may extend to other growth technologies as the ecosystem evolves, who translates business needs into secure, reliable configuration—while also pushing continuous improvement through analytics, automation, and emerging AI/agentic capabilities. You will work with the Growth Solutions Leader (accountable for people development capabilities including learning and training solutions) and partner closely with the Growth Business Product Manager, IT, and external partners to deliver solutions that support a culture of caring, learning and development across the enterprise Key ResponsibilitiesLead hands-on solution design, configuration, and enablement within Workday to support global learning, training, and people development experiences. Serve as the Workday functional expert for Workday Learning, with strong working knowledge of adjacent capabilities such as Skills Cloud and skills/learning data models. Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose configuration, including business processes, security roles, domains, integrations touchpoints, notifications, eligibility rules, and reporting needs. Partner with the Growth Business Product Manager to build product roadmap items into result Workday enhancements, balancing user experience, compliance, and scalability. Collaborate with IT and external partners on integration design and sustainment, including troubleshooting cross-system issues and ensuring reliable data flows. Drive release management activities: impact assessment, regression testing coordination, documentation, and deployment readiness for Workday feature updates and internal changes. Establish and maintain strong governance: standards, configuration documentation, decision logs, and repeatable ways of working for sustainable operations. Use insights (adoption metrics, service data, learner feedback, skills data) to identify opportunities and deliver continuous improvement and simplification. Explore and enable AI and agentic use cases (where approved) to improve employee and manager experiences—such as guided support, personalization, and automation—while ensuring data privacy and responsible use. Support change enablement: stakeholder communications, training materials, and support content to drive adoption and successful outcomes. QualificationsEducation Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree (e.g., MBA / MS in HRIS, Information Systems, or related discipline). Experience and SkillsRequired: 10+ years of experience in HR technology / HRIS / enterprise SaaS with significant exposure to Workday. Proven hands-on experience in Workday configuration and solution design and enablement (not only coordination/project support). Strong functional expertise in Workday Learning (configuration, end-to-end process understanding, reporting/analytics). Ability to translate sophisticated business needs into scalable system solutions, with strong requirements, testing, and documentation field. Experience partnering with product, IT, and external vendors/integrators in a matrixed, global environment. Solid grasp of data, security concepts, and operational sustainment (incident/problem management, root cause analysis). Good communication and stakeholder leadership skills; able to explain technical concepts in clear business language. Preferred:Experience with Workday Skills Cloud (skills foundation, skills inference/maintenance concepts, skills reporting/insights). Workday certifications (e.g., Workday Learning; other relevant Workday credentials). Experience with analytics/reporting tools and approaches used with Workday (e.g., Workday reporting, dashboards, calculated fields). Exposure to automation, conversational support, or AI-enabled HR solutions, including responsible and privacy-aware implementation practices. Experience designing solutions for global populations (multi-country requirements, localization considerations, accessibility best practices). Background supporting learning ecosystems (content providers, LMS administration concepts, learning compliance training). Good project management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests. Other:Language: English (required). Additional regional languages (Hindi/Marathi/Kannada) are a plus for India locations. Travel: Up to ~10% (as business needs require).
