Job Description THE OPPORTUNITY: In this role, you will be managing energy utilization on site and develop energy conservation strategy for the site. The energy management program shall comply with the Singapore Energy Conservation Act 2012. Besides, you will also manage the site energy efficiency program and introduce good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The program shall be in alignment with the global energy conservation program and global energy strategic initiatives. You will also responsible to develop or recommend site energy efficiency projects or special projects and coordinate with the Project Managers in implementing all energy efficiency projects or coordinate with maintenance/engineering managers to improve energy efficiency practices or operations. This include to develop and strategize yearly and long term energy capital projects to ensure continuous energy efficiency improvement and energy conservation sustainability. Implement any initiatives or policies established by NEA or related government agencies in the area of energy conservation to ensure that the sites are in compliance with such laws and regulations. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Others job responsibilities of this role include: Engineering Lead in implementing the site’s energy conservation program and developing the site’s energy conservation policies Lead in recommending proven energy savings program and initiatives Manage the site energy conservation program with all stakeholders to ensure site wide consistency in energy awareness, energy conservation and active participation in our site energy conservation program Continuously seek new energy conservation technologies with subject matter experts in Singapore, Corporation and worldwide to ensure long term sustainability in our energy conservation program and introducing innovations Introduce in stages a computerized energy monitoring system for the site Management of Resources Work closely with a team comprising of engineers indirectly in implementing the site energy conservation program via a DMAIC approach Collaborate, co-ordinate and communicate with all maintenance managers in evaluating HVAC and energy utilization of process equipment, in compliance with the site’s energy efficiency policies Develop training program or promote energy efficiency program for the company to ensure high level of awareness by all employees in energy usage and energy efficiency in equipment operation Management of Change Control Lead the mindset change with promotion program, energy month program or other energy conservation activities on site to engage all employees in energy conservation and wastage reduction Participate in selection of new equipment for new projects to ensure that selected equipment meets the green label program or equipment that are 'green' or high in energy efficiency in the market or are installed with special controls with energy efficiency features Coordinate with procurement department to incorporate energy efficiency statement in the bidding/procurement specification for purchase of new equipment Management of Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities Oversee utility / process / system energy efficiency program – compilation of data, analysis of data and recommendation to stakeholders to reduce wastage or find alternative energy efficient methodology Coordinate with maintenance and utilities managers to ensure all equipment have an effective PM or predictive program to ensure all equipment are in high energy efficiency operations Management of Capital Plans & Projects Lead and recommend energy efficient process, system or proven equipment to Project Engineers in their capital planning process or in their capital procurement plan Coordinate and update global energy project planning system to maintain a good energy conservation pipeline for each year and over a 3-5 years period to ensure energy sustainability and reducing site energy consumption levels Cost / Budget Control and Management Develop a system and program to track new energy conservation projects, cost savings from new initiatives and prepare stretch goal for each year to reduce cost of energy for the site Compile utility budgets and document all energy conservation measures for global and agencies reporting, where necessary to meet regulatory requirements VC, RFT, Kaizen Program Collaborate, co-ordinate, communicate, manage and implement energy cost savings initiatives through the site MPS system or Kaizen program KPI, Compliance, Standards & New Technologies Develop, tracks and manages department key performance indices and oversees reporting is in alignment to department, site and corporate requirements Responsible for the compliance commitments related to engineering maintenance and systems Develop, reviews and modifies new or existing site standards for maintenance and projects Evaluate new technologies and apply them within the facility as required EHS Advocate for EHS improvement initiatives, and draws from industry network to implement best practices Technical Competencies Expert in Energy Conservation Technologies, Proven Energy Savings Program, Standards and Benchmarking. Expert in the practical application of theoretical engineering knowledge Expert in the development and monitoring of engineering budgets Expert in planning of engineering and non-engineering activities in support of role Expert in the principles and application of risk based decision cGMP Standards Consistently demonstrates advanced understanding of the importance of cGMP and WQS standards Consistently demonstrates an advanced understanding of the importance of cGMP regulations related to their work and consistently develops and executes appropriate solutions Seek opportunities to improve company cGMP standards and move company towards goal of Sustainable Compliance Problem Solving Demonstrate creativity, maturity and foresight in providing solutions which are highly innovative, practical for implementation and may have strategic impact Lead cross-functional teams in the evaluation and resolution of complex problems with potential impact across business units and demonstrates ability to make rapid rational decisions under pressure Leading Self or Others, and Department Responsible for managing a group(s) of technical and non-technical staff Trains/supervises and provides direction to staff Pursue additional technical training via external seminars and industry forums Administer the performance management process (PMP) and utilizes the results as a basis for establishing specific measurable and achievable objectives Additional Assignment Perform job assignments by Supervisor pertaining to equipment or system or documentation or housekeeping Participate in EHS, Business Compliance, cGMP and all other compliance-related matters, where applicable. This can include specific duties involving in maintaining qualified status of equipment by timely application of and reporting exceptions to the GMP systems supporting the qualified state. Supervise and oversee Third Party Contractors, where applicable. Any other tasks as and when assigned by Supervisors. WHAT YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor of Engineering (prefers in the related field) or equivalent Singapore Certified Energy Manager Advance degree, such as Masters, would be a plus Work experience required with 5-10years experience in pharmaceutical or related industry Demonstrate leadership behavior in alignment with our leadership standards Functional Competencies Demonstrated project management expertise to execute large and/or complex projects, work in cross-functional teams to complete projects successfully within budget, schedule and quality requirements Knowledge of applicable regulations and divisional policies/guidelines, especially equipment design, equipment qualification, preventive maintenance and calibration Demonstrated capability in vendor service contracts management Demonstr
