Meet the Team As a senior member of the Foundations organization, you will lead the design and delivery of robust, resilient, and scalable platform solutions that host Splunk’s enterprise software. Your focus will be on driving automation and solving complex, cross-functional challenges to ensure seamless, high-quality services for the users. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your advanced cloud expertise to influence the growth and evolution of the Splunk Cloud platform. Your impact Architect, develop, and maintain Splunk core platform infrastructure components across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure), focusing on scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions. Architect and oversee the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of cloud-native applications, including enhancing AWS-based services. Drive improvements in availability, performance, efficiency, and security through software deployment, utilizing languages and tools such as Go, C++, Python and Kubernetes. Apply software engineering best practices in distributed systems programming, including debugging, performance tuning, and reliability engineering for complex systems like CDNs, databases, and data replication. Proactively monitor system health and lead incident response efforts to identify root causes and mitigate performance bottlenecks before impacting customers. Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptability within an agile, fast-paced environment, encouraging innovation and exploration of new technologies. Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth. Minimum qualifications Proven experience deploying critical cloud native applications with innovative engineering approaches. Solid software engineering skills. Expertise managing SaaS and/or on-premises applications at scale, including containerized environments. Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and associated service deployment and maintenance. Strong understanding of cloud-based database management systems, particularly Postgres, MySQL, and NoSQL technologies. Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, and Go. Preferred qualifications Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins), infrastructure automation (Terraform), collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence), Kubernetes, networking protocols, DNS, load balancing, API gateways, service mesh, and TLS infrastructure. Excellent communication skills with fluency in English. Experience working within Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe agile methodologies. Demonstrated ability to work independently, make responsible decisions, and thrive in a fast-changing, unstructured environment. Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to mentor and support colleagues. Innovative mindset with openness to learning new technologies and collaborating across teams. Why Cisco?
