Job Description Reporting to the Executive Director, Innovation, Digital Enablement, and Analytical Solutions (IDEAS), the Senior Specialist role will support ECO by helping to build and enhance data-driven solutions with a focus on critical-to-compliance risk areas. This position is a hybrid role that sits at the intersection of technology and business and will be focused on supporting ECO-wide initiatives. The Senior Specialist partners with IDEAS team members and ECO stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver well-tested solutions. Individuals in this role bring a strong technical foundation (data modeling, SQL, visualization software, various programming languages) and a desire to deepen their understanding of the business and compliance environment. The IDEAS team works in a collaborative model, with individuals contributing to projects from concept to deployment while learning new and emerging technologies to help mitigate company risk. Technical Skills Data cleaning, preparation and structuring to enable the analysis of information. Demonstratable proficiency in R and Python coding languages. Demonstratable experience working with large language models (LLMs). Able to write/understand a programming language (.Net, C#, Java, HTML) Intermediate to advanced ability to write SQL (Inner & Outer Joins, Linked Servers, Functions, Stored Procs, Case Statements) and Microsoft Fabric. Ability to independently learn and incorporate new and emerging technology & techniques (AI, ML, BOTs, NLP) Understand underlying theory and application of key reporting/visualization software. Evaluate data using analytical and logical reasoning for the discovery of insights. Business Acumen Demonstrate how technology can be leveraged to solve problems. Demonstrate an understanding of the company's business. Understand current industry trends impacting the business. ​Storytelling Understand the KPIs used to measure the business framework. Ability to articulate insights and explain their impact and opportunities on the business. Desire to grow technical and business knowledge through feedback, training, and hands-on work. Comfort working on tasks or projects that aren’t always initially well defined, with guidance from senior team members. Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and incorporate stakeholder input into deliverables. Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong time management and organizational skills. Project Management Ability to organize work, manage tasks, and communicate status within a project team. Demonstrable ability to contribute to projects from concept to deployment, including requirements gathering, development, testing, and documentation. Ability to manage multiple tasks or workstreams with appropriate prioritization. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Qualifications: Required: BS/BA required Preferred: BS/BA or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Math, Data Analytics, Management of Information Science 3–7 years of relevant experience (including internships, co-ops, or academic projects) in analytics, data engineering, software development, or a related technical field. Strong analytical & quantitative skills with the ability to develop and interpret data insights, document work clearly, and present results to stakeholders. Preferred Experience and Skills: Exposure to regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical/healthcare) or compliance-related work or enterprise data environments preferred. Exposure to working in a global environment or supporting multiple divisions, markets, and regions. Strong desire to learn the business, compliance processes, and how data-driven solutions can mitigate risk. Experience working with enterprise-wide systems and vendors (i.e., financial reporting, master data management, customer relationship management, expense management). An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
