Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives(主な役割/目標/目的) The Medical Manager position is to provide leadership and strategic direction in order to achieve company, business unit and individual performance objectives. This role is critical to leading medical activities with medical and scientific dialogue for both internal and external stakeholders. Establishing, fostering and maintaining excellent educational activities with healthcare providers (HCPs) and research collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), other clinical investigators and key academic institutions are critical goals in order to build outstanding product awareness and advocacy. This position supports the Japan affiliate goals by developing aligned global strategies. In addition, this position facilitates the collaboration with global and regional teams. The Medical Manager works under the departmental guidance of Japan Medical Affairs. Core Job Responsibilities / Accountability / Scope(主な職務/責任/範囲) Drive activities from the medical and scientific perspective Develop and deliver medical and scientific messaging based on key outcomes and clinical data of our products in coordination with the commercial, market access and regulatory Enhance awareness of the clinical benefits of our products among HCPs KOL engagement; 1) Daily interact with KOLs based on medical and scientific data, 2) Discuss with KOLs at advisory board meeting, round table discussion and scientific interview, 3) Accelerate advocate development in Japan with Marketing Evidence generation; 1) Provide medical guidance as needed to support clinical studies, review and support IIS proposals in Japan, 2) Generate clinical evidence initiated by Abbott, 3) Accelerate scientific publication with KOLs External medical education; 1) Develop and execute educational programs for medical scientific messaging to key stakeholders such as HCPs, government, regulators, etc. 2) Develop and execute medical and scientific events at scientific congress, 3) Support Marketing team form medical and scientific perspective Internal medical scientific training; Support and execute scientific sales training Others; 1) manage the medical information issue, 2) review medical or commercial materials, 3) Support customer service 4) facilitates the collaboration with global and regional teams Required Skills and Competencies(必要とされるスキルおよびコンピテンシー) Medical scientific leadership Excellent communication skill for both internal and external stakeholders Problem/Conflict Solving Ability Education Required(必要とされる知識および教育レベル) MD or PhD degree with strong scientific and clinical background is preferred, or HCPs background such as nurse or pharmacist or clinical dietitian Minimum 3 years clinical experience in one of the following therapeutic areas, diabetes care or internal medicine, is preferred Minimum 2 years related industry experience, diabetes care industry (professional medical education or clinical research), or equivalent experience in healthcare management and a working knowledge of related fields is preferred Experience / Knowledge / Certification(必要とされる経験・知識・資格) Fluency in spoken and written Japanese is essential Medical scientific writing, reading and discussing capability in English is required English communication skill at business level Searching, reading and assessing medical and scientific articles Rich knowledge and experience using PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
