AbbVie is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst on a 12 month contract to play a pivotal role in supporting AbbVie’s Commercial Affiliate teams across Australia, bringing financial planning, reporting, analysis and business partnering together to help shape performance and drive informed decisions. This is a highly visible opportunity to contribute to business outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will champion continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting and tools, with a strong focus on AI and automation to enhance efficiency, sharpen insight generation and support smarter, faster decision-making. You’ll also play an important role in planning cycles, challenging assumptions, identifying risks and opportunities, and turning complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead projects, as directed by the Senior Business Finance Manager or Planning Controller, to improve efficiency and accuracy across processes, financial modelling, and data validation through the use of AI and automation. Drive continuous improvement in budget tracking and variance reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and insight. Support ad hoc finance projects and analyses as required. Prepare, consolidate, and complete financial reporting for LBEs, Plan, Update, and LRP cycles in line with global, intercompany, and affiliate policies, processes, and guidance. Maintain financial sales models and provide inputs into planning systems. Partner with commercial and support teams on forecasting, planning, and financial analysis. Support the Senior Business Finance Manager and ANZ FP&A Controller through key planning cycles and business reviews. Support preparation of monthly demand presentation materials, split charts, commercial models and management reporting packs. Update and maintain internal management reporting and planning systems. Deliver monthly sales and expense reporting with clear variance analysis and commentary. Track performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities. Monitor, analyse, and review SG&A spending. Interpret financial information to support sound financial and operational decision-making. Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders. Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and contribute to decision-making through effective business partnering. Ensure financial results are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Work effectively within a matrixed organization and collaborate with shared service providers where relevant. Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per AbbVie’s policies and procedures. Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times. Adhere to AbbVie’s codes of conduct and compliance processes, including timely training and maintaining ethics and integrity. Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested. Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is essential for the position CPA, CA, CIMA, ACCA, or MBA are preferred but not essential Minimum 5 years’ experience in finance business partnering or FP&A. Exposure to AI, machine learning and predictive modelling preferred Strong financial modelling, forecasting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate financial data into practical insights for non-finance stakeholders. Knowledge of SAP and TM1 preferred with Power BI experience essential Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis. Experience working with senior stakeholders and contributing to business decision-making. Experience working with shared service providers and within a matrix organization. Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other complex commercial environments. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Commercially minded with strong attention to detail and broad business perspective Self-starter with strong time management skills and agility in responding to urgent business needs and meet deadlines. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working through issues without clear solutions. High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance. Ability to collaborate effectively across a matrix organization. Advanced Excel and spreadsheet capability essential.
