The Business Analyst – Procurement Analytics & Resilience is responsible for building and scaling data-driven insights across commodities, cost structures, supply risk, and BOM-level intelligence. This role sits at the intersection of Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain and will enable proactive decision-making through advanced analytics, cost modeling, and risk intelligence. The analyst will play a critical role in strengthening supply assurance, improving cost competitiveness, and enabling early identification and mitigation of supply and financial risks across the full product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities 1. Commodity & Market Analytics Develop commodity intelligence models to track pricing trends, supply-demand dynamics, and cost drivers Support category strategies with data-driven insights on market movements, inflation exposure, and supplier positioning Analyze supplier behavior, capacity constraints, and allocation risks to inform sourcing strategy 2. Cost Modeling & Financial Analytics Build and maintain should-cost models across key commodities and components Perform cost decomposition (materials, labor, overhead, margin) to identify savings opportunities Support sourcing and negotiation strategies with quantified cost targets and benchmarking Partner with Finance to align cost assumptions, validate savings, and support ROI-based decision-making 3. BOM & Part-Level Analytics Analyze bill-of-materials (BOM) structures to identify cost, risk, and standardization opportunities Build scalable BOM health dashboards to improve visibility into component risk and cost optimization opportunities Identify single-source exposure, lifecycle risks (e.g., EOL), and opportunities for part consolidation or platforming Support NPI teams with early-stage BOM analytics to drive design-to-cost and supply resilience 4. Supply Risk, Resilience & Mitigation Develop component- and supplier-level risk models (single-source, geo, capacity, financial health) Enable proactive risk identification across Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3 supply chain layers Quantify business impact (revenue risk, supply continuity risk) and prioritize mitigation actions Track mitigation execution (dual-sourcing, LTAs, buffer strategies) and measure effectiveness Partner with Upstream Resiliency / Program Sentinel initiatives to scale enterprise risk visibility 5. Data, Tools & Dashboarding Build and scale analytics solutions (Power BI, SQL, Python, or equivalent) for real-time visibility Integrate data across procurement, engineering, planning, and finance systems Develop executive-level dashboards covering:Component risk exposure Cost trends and savings opportunities Supplier performance and SLA compliance Drive automation of manual processes (BOM analysis, cost tracking, risk scoring) 6.
