Position Overview: Zynga is looking for a 3D Art Generalist to join the team that brings to life one of many beloved games. We make the world’s most beautiful slots and do so in a fast-moving, supportive, and energetic environment. Our team consists of industry veterans from the video game industry, giving us great depth and adaptability. The 3D Generalist Artist will be working with a team of Designers, UX, Concept Artists, Animators, Producers and Software Engineers to develop beautiful and optimal game content. A key member whose primary role is to support the team and the product and is expected to be proactive in their communication on a daily basis. Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, team player, and proactive problem solver. You draw from a range of skills to creatively determine solutions. You are a contributor of ideas, overseer of pipelines, and collaborator across discipline lines providing expertise and seeking out potential issues before they become problems. What You’ll Do: Driving 3D asset production across a diverse range of types, including environments, props, character models, and UI elements. Owning the 3D pipeline from end-to-end, including modeling, texturing, rigging, and keyframe animation. Integrating assets smoothly into Unity , ensuring optimal setup of prefabs, materials, and animations. Adapting to evolving technologies , including AI and procedural generation tools, and integrating new workflows effectively. Partnering closely with Art and Design teams to craft fun, engaging player experiences, occasionally leveraging basic 2D art skills for concepting or UI adjustments. Managing priorities effectively while staying organized, agile, and maintaining asset optimization for mobile performance in a fast-paced environment. Clearly articulating, presenting, and defending design and technical art decisions to cross-functional stakeholders. What You Bring: 6+ years of experience in game art, with a heavy focus on 3D art generation and production pipelines. Expert knowledge of Maya and Unity (or equivalent 3D/engine packages), with a proven track record of shipping mobile or web games. Strong 3D animation skills , including rigging and a solid grasp of weight, timing, and overlapping action. A strong portfolio that demonstrates versatility, creativity, and clean topology, including the efficient optimization of 3D models (low-poly modeling, texture baking). Solid understanding of art fundamentals , including composition, color theory, lighting, and rendering styles across both 3D and 2D spaces.
