Job Function: Legal & Compliance Job Sub Function: Law Business Partners Job Category: Professional All Job Posting Locations: Zuchwil, Switzerland, Zug, Switzerland Job Description: Senior Legal Counsel MedTech SwitzerlandLocation: Zug or Zuchwil, Switzerland Contract: Full Time, Hybrid Overall Purpose Of This Role: This is a senior, strategic legal position for Johnson & Johnson MedTech in Switzerland, with direct exposure to the Swiss leadership team and meaningful impact on business decisions. It offers ownership in shaping local legal support, solving practical business problems, and helping teams move faster while navigating compliance in a highly regulated healthcare environment. The position is for a Swiss-qualified lawyer who wants autonomy, senior stakeholder exposure and a chance to work close to healthcare innovation, including smarter digital and AI-enabled ways of working, reporting to the EMEA Senior Legal Director Digital & Robotics. Role Responsibilities:Act as an independent strategic legal business partner for Johnson & Johnson MedTech in Switzerland, enabling growth and practical decision-making across the local business. Partner closely with business leaders and participate in the local leadership team and relevant management discussions as a trusted advisor. Provide pragmatic and timely legal advice to the Swiss MedTech business, taking ownership of commercial, corporate, healthcare compliance, contract and tender-related matters. Advise on public procurement and tender processes, including early risk identification, practical guidance to tender teams and support for innovative solutions. Support critical agreements and legal documents and standardize processes and guidelines for recurring matters. Develop and improve local legal processes, templates, guidance and ways of working to help the business execute efficiently. Provide practical training to local teams on key legal topics, including contract law, competition law, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, public procurement, data, digital and AI-related topics. Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate them into clear implications and actions for the Swiss MedTech business. Experience Required:Swiss qualified lawyer, Master of Laws from a Swiss university highly desired. Fluent in written and spoken German and English. 8-10 years relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, ideally in a multinational environment. Broad commercial and corporate legal experience in Switzerland, including complex commercial agreements. Practical working knowledge of Swiss public procurement and tender processes. Interest in healthcare, medical technology and innovation is essential; curiosity and willingness to build capability in data, digital health, connected technology and AI-enabled ways of working is a strong plus. Able to operate with appropriate autonomy on strategic legal matters, showing sound judgment on material, novel or high-risk issues. Pragmatic lawyer who can assess issues and give clear recommendations. Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to manage priorities and drive matters to conclusion. Comfortable working independently, close to the business, building trust with senior stakeholders and contributing to compliant growth. Able to simplify complex legal issues into practical options and clear next steps. Collaborative team player who can work effectively with legal, compliance, regulatory, finance, tender and commercial colleagues. Clear communicator who is willing to speak up, take a position and participate actively in business and legal discussions. High ethical standards and sound judgment in a regulated healthcare environment. Curious, improvement-minded and open to using digital and AI tools to streamline legal work and improve service to the business. Required Experience:Swiss commercial and corporate law experience. Experience supporting complex contracts and business advisory work in Switzerland. Practical familiarity with Swiss public procurement and tender-related legal issues. Knowledge of anti-bribery, anti-corruption and healthcare compliance principles, including FCPA and relevant local requirements.
