Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for Purchases goods from internal (feeder factories) and external suppliers according to the delivery schedule, transportation mode, price, special requirements, and terms and conditions. Ensures purchasing activities are aligned with company purchasing policies and procedures. The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite This role is contributing to the ABB India, Smart Building Business, for Supply Chain Operation function at Bangalore location. You will be mainly accountable for: Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and execute master production schedules and short-to-medium-term production plans aligned with demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and inventory policies to reach customer service and on-time delivery targets. Demand, Capacity & Inventory Management Translate demand signals into prioritized production schedules, support cross-functional capacity planning, and optimize inventory levels, replenishment strategies, and planning parameters across plants and distribution centers. Performance Monitoring & S&OP Execution Monitor and report key planning KPIs, including OTIF, inventory turns, schedule attainment, and plan-versus-actual performance, while facilitating planning reviews and S&OP meetings to resolve constraints and align stakeholders. Systems, Analytics & Continuous Improvement Utilize ERP/MRP, APS, Excel, SQL, and BI tools to perform planning simulations, root cause analyses, and develop management dashboards while implementing automation and process improvement initiatives. Risk Management & Operational Governance Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and capacity bottlenecks, support new product introductions, maintain planning master data (BOMs, routings, lead times), and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 5–8 years of demonstrated experience in production planning and control. Collaborative professional with an engaged, cooperative approach, willing to share knowledge and discover new solutions. Goal-oriented with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Effective written and verbal communication capabilities, along with an openness to listening and integrating innovative ideas. Knowledge in logistics handling of imports and exports. Experience in material planning with skills in S&OP, purchasing, and inventory management. Demonstrates a positive and engaged attitude while proposing solutions when risks/opportunities arise. Experience in the switchgear and electrical industry for MCBs, wiring accessories, and DBs.
