THE ROLE: As a key contributor to AMD's quality and reliability initiatives, you will drive supplier and manufacturing excellence for next-generation switch products supporting AI, cloud, and high-performance computing solutions. In this role, you will partner with design, manufacturing, assembly, product engineering, testing, system integrators, and suppliers to ensure products achieve the highest levels of quality from initial release through full lifecycle deployment. You will lead data-driven quality improvements, supplier engagement, advanced analytics initiatives, and customer-focused problem resolution while influencing quality, reliability, and process improvements across global operations. You will also lead quality readiness assessments and manufacturing quality execution during NPI transitions and production ramp. THE PERSON: The successful candidate is a highly motivated quality leader with deep expertise in networking hardware, supplier quality, and manufacturing processes. They possess strong technical knowledge of switch systems, paired with exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills. This individual thrives in complex, fast-paced environments, effectively driving cross-functional collaboration, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and partnering closely with suppliers and customers to resolve challenging quality issues. They are passionate about using data-driven insights to improve product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive supplier and internal technical organizations, including design, assembly, manufacturing, and product testing teams, to achieve high-quality product releases through review of test plans, qualification results, failure rates, DFx, xFMEA, NUDD, and supplier-led failure analysis. Coordinate and manage quality activities with a focus on issue resolution, part approval, process control, quality assurance during NPI, advancement of analytics capabilities, risk identification, and mitigation planning. Drive quality improvements related to design, materials, and manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring critical quality data and test telemetry are sourced from system integrators and customers. Monitor factory and field nonconformance metrics for switch products, including manufacturing yield, first-pass yield excursions, hardware replacement rates, and field quality performance, while driving process improvements and corrective actions. Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation utilizing 8D, 5-Why, statistical analysis, and industry-standard quality methodologies. Collect and analyze large amounts of data to identify product and process performance trends, providing actionable recommendations to improve quality, reliability, and operational efficiency. Drive switch debug and issue resolution activities involving both firmware and hardware defects. Define switch supplier build report expectations, including reporting frequency, required quality metrics, expected data, yield monitoring, and escalation requirements. Manage field and customer escalations as the primary quality interface with suppliers, driving containment, root cause identification, corrective actions, and long-term resolution of quality excursions. Serve as an advocate for the customer through deep manufacturing knowledge, timely follow-through, and strong customer focus. Capture supplier and customer feedback, track lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in quality and reliability performance against AMD and customer requirements. Travel to supplier locations as needed to support manufacturing quality initiatives, supplier audits, investigations, and continuous improvement activities. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong technical understanding of switch architectures, networking systems, and system-level quality concepts. Experience applying DFx, xFMEA, NUDD, root cause analysis methodologies, statistical process control principles, reliability testing, failure analysis, and corrective action processes. Experience supporting cloud service providers, hyperscale customers, networking OEMs, or data center infrastructure deployments preferred. Proven experience developing process quality plans, conducting supplier quality audits, and driving effective 8D corrective and preventive actions. Proven experience leading quality excursions and resolving complex manufacturing, supplier, field, customer, and product quality issues, including executive-level quality reviews and management of critical customer escalations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive data-driven insights from large datasets and influence technical decision-making. Experience working directly with suppliers to build relationships, drive accountability, and enable effective decision-making across multiple functions and organizational levels. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of an organization, including executive leadership, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional technical teams. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and drive complex issues to closure in fast-paced matrix environments. Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, JIRA, or similar analytics and reporting tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and customer focus. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
