The Opportunity Provide guidance, coordinate, and analyze site operations related to customs compliance and international trade matters, ensuring compliance with all applicable customs regulations and trade laws, including FDA, COFEPRIS, and NOM requirements, as well as Abbott’s established policies and procedures and other requirements from Mexican regulatory agencies. What You’ll Do Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements regarding the latest Customs, FDA, and other government agencies' import regulations, as well as customs legislation update processes. Verifies and validates the payment of foreign trade taxes and duties related to import and export transactions. Verifies and validates payments for customs brokers' services and other service providers involved in import and export operations. Ensure that all information related to Foreign Trade operations is complete, up to date, and readily available in accordance with Customs Law requirements, ensuring full compliance with Abbott’s regulatory and audit requirements.Verify that all documentation generated by service providers is accurate and properly digitized. Customs declarations (pedimentos), invoices, and certificates of origin. Permits and communications with government authorities. Proof of payment for duties, taxes, and logistics-related expenses. Supporting documentation for fixed asset imports and shipments related to new projects. Collaborate with Global Trade Compliance teams and maintain effective communication with direct suppliers across multiple regions (e.g., the United States, Europe, Costa Rica, and other countries of origin) to ensure accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and the proper execution of import and export operations into Mexico involving Abbott-owned products. Implement appropriate corrective actions in response to any findings identified during Corporate Customs & Trade Compliance (C&TC) compliance assessments, as well as findings issued by local regulatory agencies. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (degree required). Experience: 4 years in a similar role. Recent experience within the last year. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Intermediate to advanced conversational English proficiency. Knowledge of SAP. Knowledge of Power BI.
