This Technician position is within the Production Department at our Animal Health facility in Charlottetown P.E.I. The Charlottetown facility manufactures vaccines and biologics used within aquaculture farming. Leveraging an experienced and innovative team environment, the key technologies at the site are biologics production using fermentation, tangential flow filtration, chromatography, cell culture platforms, and sterile filling. The Charlottetown facility is part of our global Animal Health Manufacturing Division network and is a key contributor to the manufacturing of animal health products. Working within one of the manufacturing operations teams you will be expected to be able to work independently and as part of the team to contribute to the daily completion and schedule adherence of production activities. The operation is made up of teams that carry out the production activities for the preparation of equipment, buffers and media components, fermentation of bacteria, downstream processing of plasmid DNA and blending of the final vaccines prior to sterile filling. The position requires someone who can demonstrate a good attention to detail and achieve a consistent error-free execution of daily job responsibilities, be able to complete documentation using Good Documentation Practices and be able to identify opportunities for process improvement and employ basic problem-solving skills. Education Minimum Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent (A 2-year college diploma in a Science related discipline) Required Experience and Skills: One or more years of experience working in a GMP manufacturing environment. (production preferred) Proficient oral and written communication skills. Able to follow/comply with Manufacturing Directions, Standard Operating Procedures, Company/Corporate/Regulatory Policies. Ability to demonstrates basic skills in effective time management to meet given deadlines. Able to work effectively with team members and show initiative to support others on the team when needed. Proficient computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel. Language requirement: English. Other Requirements and Information: Must be able to work shift work (12-hour daytime shifts, 3-4 days/week including weekends) and overtime as required. Required to assist in disinfection procedures involving hazardous chemicals requiring the use of a respirator. Must be able to lift, move and maneuver small-medium sized equipment – up to 50lbs. Requires ability to stand for long periods of time. Requires frequent ladder or stair climbing. Must be able to read, write, understand, and comply with appropriate standard operating procedures. This job posting is for an existing vacancy position. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,160 - $75,240 CAD. En travaillant au sein de l’une des équipes des opérations de fabrication, vous devrez être en mesure de travailler de façon autonome ainsi qu’en équipe afin de contribuer à l’exécution quotidienne des activités de production et au respect des échéanciers établis. Les opérations sont réalisées par des équipes responsables des activités de production liées à la préparation des équipements, des tampons et des composants de milieux de culture, à la fermentation bactérienne, au traitement en aval de l’ADN plasmidique ainsi qu’au mélange final des vaccins avant leur remplissage aseptique. Le poste requiert une personne démontrant un grand souci du détail et capable d’exécuter ses tâches quotidiennes de manière constante et sans erreur. La personne retenue devra également être en mesure de compléter la documentation conformément aux bonnes pratiques de documentation, d’identifier des occasions d’amélioration des processus et d’appliquer des compétences de base en résolution de problèmes.
