The International Communications Leader (ICL) role is a member of the GPS (Global Pharma Strategy) communications team, within Global Pharma communications. Be part of our inclusive team at Roche Group Communications. The International Communications Leader (ICL) is accountable for end-to-end product and portfolio communications strategies, driving portfolio and commercial objectives through high-impact external communications. This person plays an integral role on the product lifecycle team, providing counsel to the Lifecycle Leader and the Commercialisation Strategy Leader. Given the nature of this position, you will be expected to flow to work of the highest priority as required. You will work closely with various cross-functional partners and stakeholders, including but not limited to, affiliate communicators, corporate communications, internal communications, media relations, investor relations, Global Pharma Strategy and Product Development therapeutic area and franchise leaders. The role is located in Basel. The OpportunityWe are looking for a creative, authentic, and collaborative product communications leader to architect high-impact strategies that progress our ambitions and serve patients. Accountable for GPS product communications strategies and deliverables. Leads the development and implementation of global product & disease area communications plans, including strategy, tactics, and resources. Identifies, prepares for, and manages communications activities for issues related to the assigned topic(s). Provides counsel to the Lifecycle Leader and the Commercialisation Strategy Leader. Drives portfolio and commercial objectives through high-impact external communications. Leads cross-functional teams and drives cross-functional activities to a successful conclusion within a matrixed and multicultural environment. Proactively collaborates with various cross-functional partners and stakeholders (including but not limited to affiliate communicators, media relations, and Global Pharma Strategy). Who You AreThe ideal candidate will be commercially focused and possess the clarity of conviction necessary to work closely with c-suite executives. Bachelor’s degree (preferred science, business, communications) and 10+ years in communications with a focus on pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or related healthcare industry (preferably communications agency or similar experience). Prior experience in one or more of our 5 therapeutic areas is a plus (Immunology, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, CVRM) Fluent in written and verbal English. Digital and social media native while also having expertise with traditional media. Possesses strong storytelling skills, excellent editorial judgement, and a passion for language.
