The PositionJob Purpose & Summary As the Finance Lead and a key member of the Bulgaria Enabling Team (Leadership Team), you provide strategic financial leadership, analytical expertise, and business judgment to drive a sustainable, compliant, and high-performing affiliate. Leveraging deep business acumen, you provide the critical insights needed to guide complex decision-making, optimize resource allocations, and support strategic initiatives across both the local organization and the wider Roche network. Sharing accountability with the General Manager for operational profitability and navigating industry trends, your core focus is to inspire and influence. You will lead the local Finance and business services team, build collaborative bridges across borders, and rally support to advance the affiliate's vision without relying on formal authority alone. Acting as a risk manager, change agent, and the "economic conscience" of the affiliate, you will actively steer the organization through its agile transformation and strategic journey. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Finance & Business InsightsForward-Looking Analysis: Proactively identify key challenges and opportunities, thoroughly assessing their long-term financial and non-financial impact on the affiliate. Market Insight Generation: Anticipate industry trends, macro-environmental shifts, and potential business risks or opportunities to generate meaningful market insights that secure the long-term sustainability of the affiliate. Agile Ecosystem: Stimulate an environment that actively supports smart experiments, rapid iterations, and ruthless prioritization, ensuring the local organization maintains its capability to scale efficiently. Actionable Intelligence: Lead the Finance function to deliver highly relevant, actionable information to stakeholders for robust data-driven decision-making and continuous performance monitoring. Strategic Change Agent: Act as a change agent for strategic and transformational projects and initiatives having a direct or indirect financial impact across geographical boundaries. Organizational Efficiency & Business Partnering Target & Budget Formulation: Formulate clear financial targets, operating budgets, deadlines, and content requirements, guiding the business to successfully meet both short- and long-term goals by delivering comprehensive financial information. Value-Enhancing Collaboration: Engage deeply with business partners, particularly the Enabling Team, to co-create and execute value-enhancing choices, driving overall business performance while ensuring all local strategic ambitions and structural commitments to the region are flawlessly met. Cross-Border Networking: Effectively network and collaborate across boundaries to forge strong, strategic relationships beyond the Finance function, leveraging the broader network to deliver superior outcomes and break down organizational barriers. Process Modernization: Drive continuous process standardization, automation, and tight operational integration with all relevant parties, including the Regional Shared Services (RSS) network. Commercial & Cost Monitoring: Oversee cost management, credit management, accounts receivable, asset management, and specific commercial deal structures to secure organizational effectiveness. Financial Governance & ControlsReporting Quality: Safeguard the absolute quality, transparency, and accuracy of financial transaction recording and reporting, meeting both statutory criteria and stringent Group reporting requirements (e.g., FGAR, RPM). Transaction Control: Ensure rigorous control over all financial transactions, accountancy matters, treasury, and asset positioning, including the maintenance and execution of advanced audit systems. Internal Controls Framework: Formulate, implement, and continuously monitor robust internal financial controls (including ICFR and segregation of duties) to maintain corporate compliance and reporting integrity. Annual Accounts Accountability: Assume ultimate accountability for the seamless preparation, integrity, and final audit of the affiliate's annual financial accounts. People Leadership, Mindsets & Competencies VACC & Agile Leadership: Leverage VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) principles to enable a diverse team to contribute to enterprise outcomes. Actively shape, implement, and role-model modern, flexible ways of working to steer the team through the affiliate’s agile transformation journey. Talent Management & Growth: Hire, coach, and develop internal employees and external partners by establishing clear accountabilities, delegating effectively, and fostering local decision-making. Maintain clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and ensure structured reviews and individual development plans are actively implemented. Key Job Requirements & Qualifications Education & Professional CertificationsMinimum: University degree (BSc/MSc) in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualification is desirable. Certification: Qualified member of an internationally recognized accountancy or financial body (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, CA, ACA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent qualification). Leadership Background: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven financial experience, with a solid track record in a managerial or leadership position overseeing finance teams. Strategic Agility: Outstanding business acumen and strategic agility, with a proven track record of managing financial governance in a complex matrix environment. Influencing Skills: Solid entrepreneurial, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with an ability to deliver results, manage change, and resolve conflicts across matrix boundaries. Global Mindset: Experience working within multicultural networks or international matrix organizations. (Previous experience within an international healthcare, pharmaceutical, or In-Vitro diagnostics setting is highly desirable). Technical & Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English.
