Job Description SummaryAt GE HealthCare, the Biomedical Engineer – Site Based is responsible for providing on-site technical support for the maintenance, repair, and management of medical devices within a healthcare facility. Acting as a dedicated engineering resource at the customer site, this role ensures equipment reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal operational performance while delivering excellent customer service and supporting high-quality patient care. The Biomedical Engineer will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad range of medical equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain accurate service documentation, and work closely with clinical staff, hospital stakeholders, and GE HealthCare teams to ensure timely issue resolution. The role also supports service KPIs, quality standards, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to all Health & Safety and regulatory requirements. Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Support contractual KPIs by collaborating with team leaders and account managers. Maintain accurate service records and complete all administrative tasks using relevant CMMS tool. Communicate effectively with hospital staff and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues and follow-up. Assist the wider engineering team in achieving local and global service goals. Maintain safe working practices and comply with local Health & Safety regulations. Manage spare parts inventory and ensure tools/test equipment are maintained to required standards. Travel to other healthcare sites as needed to support service delivery. Participate in meetings with OEM service staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Adhere to relevant quality management systems, policies, and applicable laws and regulations. Required Qualifications & Experience Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a biomedical engineering or similar technical role. Familiarity with national regulatory standards for medical devices. Experience working in clinical environments, ideally with direct patient or staff interaction. Exposure to a broad range of medical devices and technologies. Skills & Attributes Strong customer relationship and communication skills (written and verbal). Good working knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and asset management tools. High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet service goals.
