Main Purpose of the RoleManage the financial risks of Infectious Disease (ID) Market Japan's business through implementation of appropriate controls and procedures. Works directly with Country GM, Area leadership team, Business Unit Finance, and Division Finance as appropriate.Develop appropriate financial strategies and implement programs with administrative excellence in accordance with ID Japan's strategic objectivesProvide support to ID Japan business relating to financial analysis, evaluation and justification of business models, financial planning & controls, gross margin improvement, risk evaluation, contracts, and return on investment.Summarize and communicate complex financial situations in a clearconcise manner explaining thought processes and analysis to Senior Global Management. Support GM Japan in key decisions and ensure responsible investment decisions.Provides oversight and management of distributor markets, including annual contracting, incentives, inventory management, and compliance, as appropriate.Main Responsibilities of the RoleProvide financial counsel and analysis for proposed strategic growth initiatives, monitor local operations performance against financialPlansLBEs/CMR and ensure management is advised on exposure issues. Drive development and preparation of solid financial business plans (and underlying analysis) to ensure the affiliate delivers its financial commitments. Advise senior management in areas of profit maximization, resource prioritization, distributor management and day-to-day operations. Anticipate market activities that can impact business. Ensures appropriate integrity and reasonableness of financial data as well as compliance with Corporate/Division financial policies and procedures, and understanding of GAAP Responsible for implementation and adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs) Responsible and to ensure Global Compliance with all applicable customs, antiboycott, embargo, and trade control laws, rules and regulations in countries where Abbott imports or exports goods, software, or technology according to Abbott’s Code of Conduct. Create a sustainable infrastructure and environment that enables growth Provide timely inputs to management regarding any financial risks, including those associated with trade activities and inventory issues across the supply chain. Provide recommendations on how to manage these risks Collaborate with functional teams, such as Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Corporate Finance Services, etc with the target in creating a cohesive and sustainable environment. Cooperation with regional distributors, manage risk of excessexpiring products to minimize write offs and returns Review and approve distributor claims in coordination with ID Area Finance & Demand Planning team. Requirements15 to 20 years of relevant experiences, preferably in the healthcare or life science industry. Non-healthcare industry is welcomed. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. Proven track record of developing talent. Strategic partnership mindset, able to guide the business on what it can do and should do.
