The AV Production Technician will support the planning, setup, operation, and delivery of high-quality live, hybrid, and virtual events across Amgen’s event spaces, auditoriums, control rooms, and digital collaboration environments. This role requires strong hands-on audio and video production skills, with particular emphasis on Dante audio workflows, NDI video workflows, streaming, webcasting, and virtual meeting support. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, customer-focused technician who can work confidently in fast-paced production environments, support senior leaders and cross-functional teams, and deliver reliable, polished event experiences. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders, Customer Care and Experience teams, vendors, event owners and event coordinators to ensure every production is technically sound, well-executed, and aligned to business needs. Responsibilities: Support the end-to-end technical execution of live, hybrid, and virtual events, including meetings, town halls, webcasts, executive events, auditorium productions, and large-scale campus events. Operate, configure, and troubleshoot AV production systems, including audio consoles, video switchers, playback systems, cameras, microphones, encoders, decoders, displays, and control room equipment. Manage and support Dante audio networks, including audio routing, device configuration, signal flow validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Manage and support NDI video workflows, including NDI-enabled cameras, encoders/decoders, routing, discovery, software tools, and network-based video transport. Provide technical support for streaming and webcasting platforms, including event setup, testing, monitoring, and live support. Support virtual and hybrid meeting technologies, including Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, ensuring strong audio/video quality and a smooth user experience. Serve in multiple live production roles as needed, such as Audio Technician, Video Technician, Virtual Meeting Operator, Graphics Operator, Playback Operator, Streaming Technician, or Technical Support. Perform pre-event checks, equipment readiness assessments, signal testing, room validation, and quality control to ensure successful event delivery. Partner with event owners, coordinators, executives, presenters, and technical teams to understand event goals and translate them into effective production plans. Maintain auditoriums, and control room systems, including video walls, audio systems, control systems, networked AV devices, and production equipment. Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally during live events, escalating when needed while maintaining a calm and solutions-focused presence. Support continuous improvement of AV production spaces, workflows, documentation, equipment standards, and operational procedures. Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams for equipment repairs, upgrades, installations, and event-specific production needs. Deliver a high level of customer service while supporting a wide range of internal clients, including senior executives and business-critical stakeholders. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of engineering experience and/or event production experience OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of engineering experience and/or event production Requirements: Hands-on experience supporting live, hybrid, and virtual event production in a corporate, enterprise, auditorium, broadcast, or similar professional environment. Strong working knowledge of professional audio systems, including microphones, wireless systems, mixers/consoles, DSPs, signal flow, gain structure, and live audio troubleshooting. Practical experience with Dante audio, including device setup, routing, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Strong working knowledge of professional video systems, including cameras, switchers, displays, video playback, capture devices, signal routing, and production workflows. Practical experience with NDI video, including NDI software, hardware devices, IP-based video workflows, and troubleshooting. Experience supporting streaming, webcasting, and virtual event platforms. Experience supporting collaboration platforms such as Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom in live or executive-facing environments. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to remain composed and effective under pressure. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable learning new technologies, tools, and production workflows. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting live events, executive meetings, webcasts, or corporate AV production for large enterprise environments. Experience with platforms and tools such as Webex Events, Microsoft Teams Live Events/Town Halls, Socio, Kaltura, Zoom Events/Webinars, VizRT, or similar production and streaming technologies. Experience with production switchers such as Analog Way Aquilon or other industry-standard video switching platforms. Experience with video systems like Lightware, Panasonic PTZ’s, NDI, Epiphan Pearl 2, Kipro Ultra, Atomos, Perfect Cue Clickers, Speaker Timers, and more Experience with audio systems such as Shure, Yamaha CL/QL and DM7 consoles, Biamp, or similar professional audio platforms. Experience supporting Crestron-controlled rooms, auditoriums, video walls, AV-over-IP systems, or enterprise collaboration spaces. Knowledge of Office 365 collaboration tools, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Box, or other enterprise productivity platforms. Experience with PC and Mac computers Familiarity Agile practices, ticketing systems, or enterprise IT support environments.
