Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the role will make an impact: Key responsibilities for this role include: Direct, supervise, coordinate, monitor and review engineering projects, proper condition and maintenance of equipment and facilities, along with being responsible for Engineering, Maintenance (Production and Facilities), Commissioning & Qualification, Automation, Reliability, and Calibration Departments, contractors, vendors and consultants utilized to accomplish objectives. Plan, design and coordinate the development of specifications, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), validation protocols, change control procedures, drawings and other documents required for equipment and facilities. Prepare project cost estimates, annual, capital, expense and department budgets, project schedules and justification documents. Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates to meet the department’s objectives. Implement and monitor the approved budget(s) and timelines against plan. Establish departmental objectives, procedures and policies governing the performance of assigned activities. Issue specific annual objectives to immediate subordinates and monitors progress. Ensure that the records of the facilities, preventative maintenance, equipment, and systems are properly maintained. Ensure use of efficient practices, adequate training of personnel as well as contractors and consultants are competent in their field and complete their work in accordance with Federal, State and local codes as well as GMP’S. Direct and advise Production Engineering, Maintenance and Calibration personnel in evaluation of problems, recommending corrective action, implementing solutions, and ensuring compliance. Select, coach, counsel and develop subordinates, ensure they are properly trained and managed. Act as Company Representative when dealing with the insurance underwriter and other regulatory agencies as they pertain to this department. Facilitate good working relationship among subordinates and with other departments. Provide support for the installation, modification and maintenance of Plant Security Systems and Production equipment safety systems. Collaborate with the Head of Operations and manufacturing on the identification of new technology and the development/modification of processes, equipment, facilities, new and existing products. Responsible for the development and communication of a site master plan. Perform other duties as assigned. The minimum qualifications for this role are: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience. A Master's degree (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. Must possess knowledge of Engineering theory and ability to apply it in a practical manner. Computers, printers, plotters and various test equipment. Drafting tools, AutoCAD, spreadsheets and Word Processing. Superior communication skills required. Position directly supervises employees; previous management experience with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees, providing training and guidance to ensure employee success, planning, assigning, and overseeing daily work activities, monitoring and appraising employee performance on a regular basis, providing constructive feedback, recognition, and coaching, addressing performance issues, administering discipline when necessary, managing employee concerns and complaints in a timely and fair manner, and promoting a positive, respectful, and productive work environment. Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
