This position reports to: R&D Center Lead __ Join ABB in Shaping the Future of Industrial Simulation at ABB ABB drives innovation in industrial automation, digitalization, and sustainable technologies. We are now looking for a R&D Senior Engineer – Simulator Products to join our team working on the next generation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), simulation platforms, and digital twins. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced simulation software that improves engineering efficiency, enhances operator training, and ensures better system validation for customers worldwide. Your Responsibilities As a R&D Senior Engineer, you will work on developing simulation software for ABB’s control systems – both existing products and next-generation platforms. You will solve complex technical challenges related to real-time systems, distributed architectures, and process simulation, ensuring high performance and quality in our solutions. You will play an important role in the team, contributing hands-on to software development while also acting as a technical sparring partner for colleagues. Together with experts in automation and software, you will help driving innovation within areas such as digital twin, model-based engineering, and AI-supported development workflows. You will work in an Agile environment using state-of-the-art development tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing with support from AI. We are looking for someone who combines strong software development skills with an interest in industrial automation and enjoys working with complex technical challenges in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
