Your Impact The team is made up of builders and problem-solvers who enjoy tackling complex distributed systems challenges while supporting highly scalable, resilient, and observable services in production. Design, develop, test, deploy, and support cloud-native SaaS applications and services. Build scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems using microservices architecture. Develop and operate services running in public cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud or Cisco Private Cloud Participate in the design and implementation of service automation, monitoring, observability, and telemetry pipelines. Analyze service health, performance metrics, logs, traces, and alerts to improve reliability and customer experience. Own services through the full lifecycle, from design and implementation to production support and continuous improvement. Work on deployment, configuration, and operational readiness for SaaS services in production environments. Review architecture, designs, implementation plans, test strategies, and operational procedures. Troubleshoot complex production and customer issues across application, infrastructure, database, and networking layers. Collaborate with engineering, product management, security, SRE, DevOps, and customer-facing teams. Contribute to building secure, scalable, and reliable business solutions for Cisco customers and partners. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 1 - 2 years of professional software engineering experience in product engineering, SaaS, Cloud, DevOps, or Platform Engineering environment. Hands-on experience developing, testing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based applications or services in at least one public cloud environment such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Python, or Go. Experience building rich web UIs in full stack technologies, services, such as Java, Ruby on Rails/NodeJS, React, JavaScript. Experience with cloud-native application development, including containers, service deployment, scalability, resiliency, and production readiness. Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills across application, service, and cloud infrastructure layers. Experience using Generative AI tools to improve software development productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, or operational workflows. Preferred Qualifications Ability to learn quickly, take ownership of assigned features or components, and collaborate effectively in an Agile engineering team. Familiarity with software engineering practices such as code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, source control, CI/CD, secure coding, and maintainable design. Exposure to observability tools and practices, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts, and service health analysis. Understanding of cloud security fundamentals, identity, access control, RBAC, secrets management, and secure service-to-service communication. Exposure to incident response, root cause analysis, postmortems, or reliability improvement practices. Why Cisco? Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada: The starting salary range posted for this position is $123,600.00 to $174,000.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training.
