Duties & Responsibilities Execute complex automation service activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, retrofits, repairs, and end-of-life support, both remotely and on-site, while ensuring compliance with ABB standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations. Deliver excellent customer support by building strong client relationships, ensuring service quality, understanding customer needs, and identifying opportunities to promote ABB’s service portfolio and generate new business. Lead technical problem-solving efforts by diagnosing complex system and equipment issues, performing root-cause analysis, recommending corrective actions, and implementing preventive measures to enhance system reliability and performance. Prepare and support engineering proposals, project estimates, risk assessments, and service documentation while contributing to knowledge management and the continuous improvement of operational processes, products, and customer service. Coordinate service resources, materials, parts, and equipment to ensure effective project execution, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, integrity, and cross-functional process compliance. Qualifications, Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline, with over 10 years of experience in automation, DCS services, and engineering hardware. Extensive expertise in ABB System 800xA engineering, including system design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, and application development, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience. Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring automation engineering teams, with strong capabilities in solution design, technical problem-solving, and remote support delivery. Strong customer-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience supporting major industrial clients such as ARAMCO, SABIC, SWCC, and Marafiq. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills, coupled with fluent English proficiency (written and spoken).
