Location/Division Specific Information: Lebanon, TN (SUT) How Will You Make an Impact?: The Sr. Manufacturing Technician encounters recurring work situations of high complexity, with occasional variations from the norm. The Sr. Manufacturing Technician has the authority to control the operation of the value stream and when vital, the facility. Must do so in a safe manner resulting in no accidents, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements, must successfully communicate information to supervision and fellow personnel, relative to the condition of the facility equipment and personnel performance and provide suggestions for problem prevention / resolution. The S. Manufacturing Technician is responsible for supervising the operations of the designated manufacturing work stream on a shift basis, leads all aspects of the activities of his/her line personnel to assure production schedules are met. A Day in the Life: Assure that personnel issues or operational conditions are properly dealt with during the shift, including but not limited to, safety and medical emergencies, personnel issues, regulatory agency interaction, and technical (process) issues. Update the appropriate Team Leader or Operations Management to take appropriate corrective action. • Coordinate the activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives, such as being responsible for the deployment of personnel across all work areas and prioritizing production schedules. • Supervise the completion of routine inspections and regulatory interaction. Plan as well as ensure that the operating and maintenance staff handles hazardous materials and wastes in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. • Assist in the training of new shift personnel, as required. • Provide input to employee performance management process for shift personnel. • Own the execution of special projects as assigned by Operations management • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related field Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment Preferred: Experience working in a clean room environment (Remove if not relevant) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Understand the 3 SHIPS principle • OwnerSHIP • MentorSHIP • RelationsSHIP • Knowledge of plant operations (manufacturing, distribution, maintenance) required, as well as knowledge of cGMP and safety (OSHA) regulations • Knowledge of computer applications and current software is desirable • Ability to handle complex process, business, and personnel issues independently • Ability to direct personnel to accomplish daily work as well as periodic special projects • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills required • Ability to handle complex processes independently • Advanced interpretation of drawings and special instructions • Ability to train, coach, and motivate individuals • Excellent time management skills • Ability to achieve goals under pressure • Objective thinking and rational decision making • Ability to accept and use constructive feedback to improve performance. • Ability to delegate work throughout a team of diverse individuals. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Ability to work in a fast-paced controlled cleanroom environment for 10-12 hours a day, depending on shift, with additional overtime as required+. The Clean-room is a controlled environment with a humidity of 30% or greater and a temperature between 60⁰ and 70⁰ F. The Clean-room has some ambient noise. Specific gowning requirements include, but are not limited to: gloves, hair net, beard net, face cover, safety glasses with no makeup / jewelry or piercings. Position requires forceful gripping/grasping and repetitive motion including pushing and pulling. Ability to use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and understand chemical hygiene including labels and SDS (Safety Data Sheets), common chemicals used include: disinfectants, solvents and IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol 70% and 99%). Must have the ability to inspect bio-process containers on a light table for an entire shift. Must have the ability to stand and move about including reaching, bending, stooping, grasping and lifting. Must have the ability to use hand tools and equipment including forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion.
