DESCRIPTION How you will make an impact: As a Technical Product Owner, you will play a critical role in delivering software and automation solutions for Cell and Gene Therapy and laboratory automation workflows. You will own product requirements, drive backlog prioritization, align stakeholders, and support delivery of business-critical initiatives, including automated workflow solutions, API-enabled system integration, and AI-assisted software development practices. This role sits at the intersection of science, software engineering, automation, and customer engagement. You will partner closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, quality, project leaders, and customer-facing teams to translate complex workflow needs into clear product requirements, acceptance criteria, and scalable software capabilities. You will also help shape future product direction by supporting API-first architecture, interoperability across automation platforms, and future lab integration. What you will do: • Own and manage product requirements, product specifications, and acceptance criteria for software and automation solutions • Prioritize product backlog items, defects, and feature requests in alignment with business priorities and delivery milestones • Drive stakeholder alignment across engineering, quality, project management, business, and customer-facing teams • Support release planning, readiness reviews, acceptance testing, and customer-facing documentation • Serve as a key product contact for strategic collaborations, gathering feedback and refining requirements • Manage stakeholder expectations, issue resolution, and requirement clarification to maintain delivery confidence and product quality • Partner with engineering teams to ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and ready for implementation • Define and support API-first product strategy for scalable integration across systems and automation platforms • Bridge Cell and Gene Therapy domain knowledge, instrumentation workflows, and software design principles • Enable interoperability across laboratory automation platforms and future lab ecosystem initiatives • Drive AI-enabled product definition, requirement workflows, and AI-SDLC adoption • Establish governance and guardrails for AI-assisted product and software development practices • Improve consistency, quality, and scalability of requirement management and product documentation REQUIREMENTS How you will get here: • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Automation, or a related technical field • 6+ years of experience in product development, software product ownership, systems engineering, automation, or related technical roles • Experience owning product requirements, specifications, acceptance criteria, backlog prioritization, and release readiness • Experience working with software engineering teams through the product development lifecycle • Strong ability to translate customer, scientific, and business needs into clear technical requirements • Experience leading cross-functional alignment across engineering, quality, project management, business, and customer-facing teams • Strong technical documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment • Experience with API design, system integration, laboratory automation, or industrial automation preferred • Familiarity with Cell and Gene Therapy workflows, instrumentation, or regulated product environments is a plus • Knowledge of quality systems, verification and validation, GMP, GxP, ISO, or 21 CFR Part 11 is advantageous • Familiarity with AI-enabled development workflows, requirement management tools, or AI-SDLC practices is advantageous • Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a bias for clear ownership and execution
