The Position Functional Portfolio Head - RDT Strategy, Portfolio & Governance The Functional Portfolio Head is a high-impact leadership position within the Strategy, Portfolio & Governance (SPG) function of Roche Digital Technology (RDT). This role ensures that RDT invests in projects, products, and initiatives that drive the highest business value, accelerating the speed of getting medicines to patients through enterprise thinking and cross-portfolio awareness. Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Portfolio Management, you serve as the strategic driver for a dynamic, high impact RDT functional portfolio, transforming business priorities into a lean, high-impact technology reality. You are responsible for establishing robust governance frameworks at the functional level and ensuring the effective delivery of strategic projects across global Functions to achieve our vision: “Doing now what patients need next.” The Opportunity Strategic Alignment & Enterprise Thinking Connect to Business Strategy: Drive a common understanding of the Business and RDT strategic objectives and "connect the dots" across the Business and Enterprise investments. Guide Strategic Alignment: Work with function leaders to translate business priorities to function or enterprise initiatives based on established guardrails. Business Domain Expertise: Use strategic agility to help teams focus on business value while aligning with the strategic initiatives of both business and RDT leadership. Drive Common Value Framework: Partner with RDT functions and business stakeholders to define strategic priorities and ensure the Value Framework is used consistently to prioritize work. Governance & Investment Management Drive Strategic Portfolio Management: Lead the governance body for your specific function, aligning senior business and RDT leaders on how to allocate the functional budget across business or enterprise portfolios. Drive Functional Portfolio Management: Oversee governance at the sub-function level, ensuring that critical business cases are realized and that intended benefits are tracked. The "Strategic Equalizer": facilitate balancing investments across products and services within your function, ensuring the portfolio remains resilient and focused on outcomes. Portfolio Execution and Transparency Manage Portfolio Risks: Proactively identify, highlight, and enable risk management across the portfolio to minimize project failures related to delays or budget overruns. Value Realization: Together with the Office of the CDTO, track and ensure value delivery from strategic projects and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Enable Resource Optimization: Oversee that resources are effectively deployed and tracked to optimize value-driven investments. Operational Integration: Collaborate with Business Operations Leads to ensure high data integrity for initiatives, financial forecasting, and resource management. Who you are: Key Leadership Competencies & Skills Strategic & Analytical Acumen Pragmatic Thinker: Strong analytical skills with a focus on outcome-driven, sustainable solutions. Digital Translator: Proven experience as a digital product owner or "digital translator" who has delivered digital use cases including advanced analytics and AI technologies. Relationship Management & Influence Demonstrated ability to build constructive and effective relationships with business and tech leaders, developing strategy in a consultative manner. Experience managing cross-functional partner relationships in a complex organization, with the ability to influence at the most senior leadership levels. Communication & Execution Master Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex investment data to the Corporate Executive Committee. Enterprise Mindset: A commitment to the "One Roche" philosophy, prioritizing the success of the entire organization over individual functional silos. Other Qualifications & Experience Professional Experience: 8+ years of leadership experience in global technology and/or consulting organizations, with at least 4+ years specifically in leadership roles encompassing Portfolio Management. Technical Breadth: Up-to-date knowledge of digital technology trends (AI, Data, Cloud) and a passion for translating them into new ways of working. Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of IT governance, finance, and cost management. Industry Context: Experience within the Pharmaceutical or BioTech industry is highly preferred. Education: Degree in IT or a related knowledge area. What you get: Salary range 19,000 - 35,400 PLN gross based on the employment contract. Compensation & BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Warsaw Grafit is 228,900.00 PLN - 425,100.00 PLN. Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors, including your skills, experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target of 20% subject to both individual and company performance.
