The Director of Portfolio Management in the Interventional Oncology business line is responsible for leading the development and execution of portfolio strategies. This role will be focused on the ablation segment covering IntelliBlate Microwave Ablation) and My Ablation Guide (MAG), the supporting treatment planning, guidance, and confirmation software solution. This role identifies market opportunities, defines portfolio priorities, informs lifecycle strategy, and develops investment and pricing recommendations that support global growth objectives. The role translates broad business strategies into structured portfolio strategies by defining product direction, strategic positioning, value propositions, market insights, portfolio assessments, roadmap priorities, and sellable feature requirements that strengthen market presence and support commercialization. This leader collaborates closely with New Product Introductions, R&D, engineering, manufacturing, sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Global Product Management, and Commercial Marketing to drive innovation, validate concepts, define strategic requirements, and enhance existing offerings. This is currently an individual contributor role; however, the scope may expand as the portfolio grows to include leadership and development of a high-performing team. This role is both strategic and technical, requiring extensive subject matter expertise in the global interventional oncology ablation market, including microwave ablation and related planning, treatment, and confirmation software solutions. Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Market Insights and Strategy Development: Ensure portfolio decisions are closely aligned with overall business goals measured by metrics like revenue contribution, customer acquisition efficiency, and marketing-generated pipeline value. Develop and implement strategic plans, market-entry recommendations, customer segmentation, value propositions, and positioning strategies to drive the success of the microwave ablation and software solutions portfolio. Identify and collaborate broadly on business development opportunities. Collect, collate and verify the validity of thorough market analysis, and create actionable strategies to achieve the company's objectives. Engage external business and industry experts to learn and influence business strategies, being alert to opportunities for growth. Conduct comprehensive market research, trend analysis, and customer segmentation to identify unmet needs, emerging opportunities, and risks related to the MW Ablation and software solutions market segments. Provide data-driven recommendations to guide the product pipeline and portfolio strategy. Owns Strategy Map Creation: Goals Objectives, Strategies, SWOT, Proposed Tactics based on SWOT, Competitive Analysis (include competing treatment modalities where applicable to TAM) Portfolio and Roadmap Development: Develop, maintain, and communicate portfolio roadmaps; lead opportunity screening, business case evaluation, investment recommendations, and resource prioritization to ensure alignment with business goals, customer needs, and strategic priorities. Monitor portfolio performance and recommend investment, sustainment, expansion, partnership, acquisition, or retirement actions as appropriate.Works closely with Medical Affairs and other key stakeholders to inform portfolio strategy, clinical evidence gaps, and ensure alignment between evidence development generation efforts and commercial strategy. Evaluate market opportunities and develop business cases for new products, features, and enhancements. To maintain clinical relevance Collaborates heavily on Regulatory Plan: Priority markets, Rationale, and language strategy New market expansion: Identify and collaborate broadly on potential new markets or target new customer segments, measured by market penetration metrics and revenue growth in the new markets. Competitive Positioning and Market Differentiation: Analyze competitor strategies, pricing models, and product portfolios to identify differentiation opportunities. Establish portfolio-level positioning, claims, differentiation strategies, and value messaging to support downstream commercialization activities. Foster Strategic Partnerships: Establish and nurture inorganic partnerships with complementary businesses or influencers to amplify brand reach and drive mutually beneficial growth. Build partnerships organically within the Siemens Healthineers ecosystem to foster new product and service development. Build external partnerships with industry societies, medical societies, hospital groups and research firms to drive insights, research relationships which support the advancement of therapies, technology development and research. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with New Product Introductions, Corporate and Business Development, R&D, Global Product Management, Commercial Leaders, and other key stakeholders to align priorities with portfolio strategy and customer needs. Partner closely with Global Product Marketing and Commercial Marketing teams to ensure portfolio strategy is effectively translated into commercialization plans. Monitor market adoption, portfolio performance, and strategic outcomes to inform future portfolio decisions and roadmap updates. Financial Planning and ROI Analysis: Partner closely with internal finance team to drive the development of financial models and ROI analyses to prioritize investments in product development and marketing initiatives. Ensure marketing efforts deliver measurable business outcomes and support revenue growth targets. Required Qualifications and Experience 10+ years of related experience in medical device, medtech, life sciences, or healthcare portfolio/product management, including demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, portfolio initiatives, or matrixed programs. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to influence, align, and lead cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed global environment, with strong executive communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills. Proficient in business tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email platforms. Experience with portfolio management, market modeling, financial analysis, business case development, and roadmap planning tools is preferred. Extensive professional expertise in interventional oncology, embolization and ablation technologies, image-guided therapy, procedural software, or related medical device markets, with demonstrated ability to solve complex, multi-dimensional portfolio challenges.
