This Position reports to: Integrated reporting BI Delivery Lead Your role and responsibilities Solution Architect – SAP BW/4HANA is responsible for designing and governing end-to-end SAP BW/4HANA-based data warehousing, reporting, and planning solutions that support enterprise financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. This role owns the overall data and analytics architecture, ensuring scalable data models, efficient data flows, high system performance, and strong governance aligned with business and IT standards. The architect partners closely with Finance (FP&A) and business stakeholders to translate functional reporting and planning requirements into optimized BW/4HANA data models, data flows, and analytics solutions, while providing technical leadership across data modeling, integration, performance optimization, and security. The role also drives architectural consistency, best practices, and adoption of modern SAP data and analytics capabilities across the landscape. The Solution Architect ensures that BW/4HANA solutions are technically robust, business-aligned, future-ready, and seamlessly integrated with S/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and other enterprise systems, while maintaining data integrity, compliance, and performance at scale. The location of the role is in Bangalore, India. The work model for the role is: Hybrid This role is contributing to the Finance, Process, Data and Systems in Bengaluru, India . You will be mainly accountable for:Architect and implement advanced SAP BW/4HANA solutions, including complex data models (ADSO, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects) to support enterprise reporting and planning scenarios such as allocations, currency translation, and forecasting. Own the BW/4HANA data modeling strategy, ensuring optimal layered architecture (LSA++), efficient data granularity, hierarchy design, and consistent master and transactional data across the landscape.Establish and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks within BW/4HANA, including data ownership, lifecycle management, auditability, and alignment with organizational standards. Lead performance monitoring and optimization initiatives across BW/4HANA and HANA database, utilizing tools such as workload monitoring, SQL trace, and HANA Studio to identify bottlenecks and ensure scalable, high-performing solutions.Optimize BW/4HANA data flows and reporting through efficient data modeling, query design, HANA pushdown (AMDP/CDS), and transformation tuning, ensuring fast data processing and high query performance. Define and implement robust security and authorization concepts in BW/4HANA, including analysis authorizations, role-based access, and data-level restrictions to meet compliance and segregation of duties requirements.Collaborate closely with Finance, FP&A, and business stakeholders to understand reporting and planning requirements, translating them into scalable BW/4HANA models and integrated SAC reporting/planning solutions. Provide technical leadership and governance to development teams, ensuring adherence to BW/4HANA architecture principles, modeling standards, naming conventions, and transport management processes.Review and guide solution designs to ensure consistency, reusability, scalability, and alignment with enterprise data and analytics architecture. Stay current with SAP BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, and SAC innovations, evaluating and adopting new capabilities to enhance performance, scalability, and overall business value. Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. SAP Analytics Cloud Planning and BW/4HANA certifications are preferred. Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAC Planning architecture and development. Proven track record of implementing large-scale planning models handling complex financial planning scenarios. In-depth knowledge of SAP BW/4HANA data modeling and integration techniques. Advanced skills in SAC Data Actions, Advanced Formulas, API-based data integrations, and predictive planning scenarios. Experience in financial planning processes (Budgeting, Forecasting, Rolling Forecasts) and a solid understanding of key financial metrics. Additional Qualities: Experience working on finance transformation programs involving SAC and enterprise-level ERP solutions. Strong focus on continuous learning and exploring emerging technologies in the planning and analytics space.
